Last post was reply to LSU1. Trying to figure this site out when I reply. Thanks for heads up LSUCajun.
Many true Miami fans have anxiety about Richt. Will he take risks or run the same vanilla offense(as long as he’s running it). I hope he brings in QBs like Georgia because if so we should be able to win the ACC often.
I happen to like your coaches personality and hope he wins. I’m tired of all these fake coaches, he seems genuine. It would be great to see someone that the media is bashing to overcome it and prove them wrong.

Just a heads up.. This is a terrible place to come if you actually want to talk real football without A-holes telling you you're wrong or trolling you.

LSUCajun- we’ve got some studs.
RB- Homer is the starter, DeeJay Dallas will get a lot of snaps. I don’t think Lorenzo Lingard will RS. We’ve been burnt with injuries and he is really good.
WRs- we are loaded IF Rosier can throw them the ball.
Richards is legit. Lawrence Cager and Darrell Langham are big and long. Jeff Thomas plays outside and Mike Harley in slot BOTH have speed like Devin Hester. We only lost Berrios which is a loss but have plenty of talent.
Our biggest question mark is QB. If Rosier struggles watch for Jarren Williams to possibly step in. He’s 6’2 and strong. We’d like to RS him but if he shows out could be it for Rosier

I think both teams match up evenly. It’s going to come down to a big play here and there and special teams.

If our special team woes continue from last season, it will make for a very long season and we will lose this game.

Justice- offensive line is an unknown at this point. We return 2 pretty good starters and have Boulware who transferred from Tennessee that I’ve heard is pretty good.
Our defense was able to beat our offensive line in spring ball. I’m hoping that experience has helped them to prepare and be ready. Good thing is our D is legit so they are facing at least 1st team speed and strength vs top opponents they’ll see this year. They definitely won’t be fantastic and unfortunately we don’t have a level headed QB to avoid mistakes. He can run the QB draw well though which will help our line from pressure

Sounds very similar to LSU. Unknown is what would categorize the entire offense including the line. I think it will be a defensive slugfest.

If it were possible to keep a select few out of the thread, they could all be like this.

I agree wholeheartedly and have posted this exact thing as a key to victory for LSU, getting pressure on your qb. What I saw of him last year is that he gets rattled if you get pressure(sacks and hits) early and it could be a long day for y'all if we do. Offensively for us, one little advantage for us will be that your DC won't have a ton of film on tendencies on formations/alignments/personnel on down and distances. It's very important to get off to a good start and get in a rhythm for us because your defense is really good at getting pressure and creating turnovers. I think in the end we win.

Please tell me briefly about your defense last year and who you lost? Do you see a drop off or who is replacing them and how will it affect Miami in your opinion?

Game 1—Mia vs LSU by LSUcajun77 After Ahmmon Richards, how do y’all look at WR? I know Richards was a pre-season All-American and y’all have recruited very well. How much will Lingard contribute in a crowded backfield and Homer already established as a really good back. Will he RS?

The receiver position has been One of the Miami’s better recruited positions since richt came in and we are loaded there: After ahmmon we have Jeff thomas ,mark pope, Brian hightower, Lawrence Cager, Marquez Ezzard, mike harley. All of those guys were 4 star receivers.

Lingard will probably play some vs lsuand he’s very explosive but I expect To see Travis homer mainly and then after him deejay Dallas who is also really good and then lingard.

In your opinion, can you give me an advantage at each position?

IMO

QB - Push (Not sure about Burrow or Rosier)
RB - Miami
TE - Push (losing Pettigrew hurts, We have Moreau and Moss, not sure about Miami)
OL - LSU (We have some young starters with experience and two other starters and some depth)
WR - Miami ( We have Giles and then it’s unknown)
DE - LSU
DL - LSU
LB - Miami or Slight push. (Miami is loaded)
CB - Push ( W/ Fulton LSU)
S - LSU or Slight push

-We lost a starting de(5.5 sacks 11.5 tfls)
-backup de(who was very productive with 8.5 sacks 11 tfls )
- 2 starting dts RJ McIntosh , kendrick Norton. They both didn’t provide much in terms of pass rush but RJ McIntosh in most game was pretty disruptive.

-We return our starting DE joe Jackson 6’5 265 who has 12.5 tfls 6.5 sacks as a sophomore.
-Starter/backup de Demetrius Jackson who led the team in sacks and tfls through the first 7 games before being injured.
- Jon garvin (6’4.5 250)Sophomore this kid is a monster and abused Notre Dame top 10 pick mcglincey a few times in that game including a sack fumble. Has the talent to be an elite edge rusher. Very disruptive player.
Behind those 3 at end we have Scott patchan 6’6 255 and a true freshman 6’6 250 greg rousseau who both really imrpessed in the spring.

Now at the dt postion we lost 2 starters but Miami coaches and sources around the program believe Gerald Willis is more talented than both of those guys and provides more of a pass rush. He’s entrenched as one of the starting dts. He didn’t play last fall in games due to him dealing with an issue but he did practice all fall with the team and was unblockable. Coach richt have said all spring and within the last week that Willis is a changed man and is a leader on the team. He’s a completely different guy since he left Edna karr And UF.
For the other dt position we have some options who have some experience but not a ton. Nesta Silvera who ended up the #2 dt in the country should be able to play right away as a 4th or 5th dt as well. And we also added a transfer from Illini to fortify the position with more depth.

LSUCajun- agree with most of your defensive rankings outside of two.
I’d take the Canes LBs over any other unit in the country. Not trying to be a homer but they are experienced, mature, strong, fast and smart.
Also I’d have to say at S I’d take Miami. J Johnson is going to be all american, very similar to Sean Taylor. He was a beast last year, this year he’ll be like a man amongst boys.(Mark my words barring injury he’s a true first round talent)

I have a good friend who is a die-hard Canes fan. Here in North Louisiana idk how lol. But we go back and forth all the time. He thinks it's going to be close. I think if Burrow starts, it won't be close.

I realize he doesn't have much film, but I think he's going to be pretty good. I'm thinking 38-10

Since our dline will be going up against your oline I think Miami has the advantage in that matchup just like how LSU would have the advantage in their dline over our oline. Remember yeah we took losses on the dline but we also did a lot of rotations and bring back guys who have contributed to a lot of the stats like Miami leading the country in sacks per game and being top 5 in the country in tfls.

Qb- Miami over LSU . Burrow hasn’t played yet and at least we have an ideal how rosier would do.

-rosier ended the season not good at all and had a solider injury in the 8th game of the season which affected him for sure but he’s not that bad. Still had 3200 yards passing 26 tds 480 rushing with 5 tds (a total of 31 tds) and won 10 games in the row.

Rb- Miami over LSU
Miami starter for sure and depth wise. LSU is not as strong here as they have been in the previous 10 years.

Te- LSU over Miami.
Miami with the better talent here but LSU has experienced depth so LSU.
Miami will largely be depending on Michael Irvin son at tight end and the #1 te in the 2018 class Brevin Jordan and another top 10 te in the 2018 class will mallory to contribute immediately who is 6’5 230 and runs a 10.99 in the 100m. I know LSU has foster Moreau who Is solid but nothing really special but he does have experience. So LSU here I guess Since we will be depending on young players ?.

Receiver- Could be a push
both teams are stacked for sure but Miami has the best one in Ahmmon Richards and return every receiver in addition to recent blue chip additions at the position in the last class. I know LSU is REALLY talented here with Marshall who is coming off an injury and Jamarr chase but they are freshman and haven’t played yet. LSU is replacing dj chark and another receiver I believe so no much experience there.

oline- LSU over Miami-
I know Ours isn’t nothing to brag about and they are okay.
Miami is returning 3 starters and we really need to figure out who are going to be the starting guards. We moved freshman all American navaughn Donaldson to right tackle after he played guard in 2017.
LSU I’m sure have talent here as well but loss some guys too right?

De- Miami has the best de in joe Jackson and I think they have more players who have experience here but I know LSU has talent as well.

Dt- LSU for sure here, Willis and Silvera are dogs for Miami for sure but I know how well LSU has recruited here overall.

Lb- Miami, Miami’s 3 linebackers have started since they were freshman and this is now their junior season. Quarterman and Pinckney are playmakers at the position. LSU imo does have the best linebacker though in Devin white.

Cb - (push but LSU has the best player here in greedy Williams). Both have really talented groups.
-greedy Williams is the top corner in the country and y’all have kary Vincent and kelvin Joseph plus the Stanford transfer.

-Miami returns Michael Jackson who is a top 5 corner in the country, Trajan bandy who played a lot last year and brought in 3 4 Star dbs(2 which enrolled early and have been really impressive).

Safety. Miami over LSU in terms of starters. But depth I’ll take LSU over Miami here.
Jaquan Johnson arguably the best safety in the country had 96 tackles 4 ints 3 forced fumbles as a junior.

Sheldrick redwine is better than John battle with too, grant Delpit who is obviously at LSU is legit though.

If we are comparing starters I’d say Miami here but overall depth at the position? LSU

Overall it might be a close game but who honestly knows, can’t wait

Not gonna line your linebackers can make it very difficult on our inexperienced running backs.

I agree with your assessment on your QB. He looked really good at times and really bad at times. Seems to throw the back shoulder fade better than anticipation throws over the middle.

I think it'll be a good game. Too many unknowns on LSU's end for me to feel confident or unconfident at this point.
