National Titles are hard to come by. Skip really turned it on reeling off all those titles between 1991 and 2000, but that is rare. If Mainieri retires with 1, that's very good. If he finishes with 2 or more, that is great. He's had a fine career. Anyone who disagrees with that is being stubborn and/or irrational. Remember Ron Polk, he won a ton of games but never won a title. How about Jim Wells? He couldn't win the big title. Bianco's clubs peak too early. They choke. Some of these jackasses around here don't realize how consistent Mainieri has been.

What’s really funny is watching people melt over a baseball game/series. It’s like some of you have never watched baseball 
Though it’s 100 certain that some of you will interpret this as “defending” Manieri because that’s the only thing you guys know buts it’s not. Nothing that happened this weekend will matter in the grand scheme of things. The team can still finish as a top 8 seed, not that that is the end all either since teams that aren’t top 8 or even top 16 have won in Omaha routinely. You simply won’t know how the season plays out for months

I’m a CPM fan, but your argument above is stupid. If CPM suffered an accident, leaving him in a vegetative state, we could all agree to replace him. That doesn’t make us experts on whom we should hire to replace him.
There are excellent coaches out there who would jump at an LSU offer for $1.5 million. The question of whether or not to fire CPM does not depend on that, but on his performance. I happen to think his performance is very good.

I have to agree. I think there's a difference between thinking it's time for a new coach and knowing who that new coach should be. That's the AD's job to find the best coach out there. That said, I completely disagree with anyone saying it's time for Mainieri to be fired.
