True, but football programs are caught cheating and put on probation. How often have you ever heard of them cancelling a football team's season for two years or even one year?

It's rightfully difficult for some, myself included, to have a ton of sympathy for a person that attempted to cheat the system.

I’m so sick of hearing this happy horse shite from you holier than thou assholes. I’d bet anyone pumping this line never started any sport at any level. I knew a lot of guys that played sports in high school that were never even near trouble. Nearly all were never near the field/court either.

The NCAA reduces penalties all the time for institutions that bring in big money (e.g. Penn St), but will bend a kid over and then run a commercial about how great they are for the kids.

Fulton got fricked. The end. The NCAA hypocrisy of looking out for student athletes disgusts me. They subjectively reduce sanctions drawn from an institutional pedophilia ring but look at this case in black and white? They’re willing to completely frick an individual’s collegiate career and beyond but show mercy toward major institutions. If you’re “too big to fail” you get good behavior benefits, but individuals like Fulton get hardline treatment regardless of behavior. frick em. Only individuals that make money for them are known heisman candidates, right?

And frick LSU while I’m at it. I find it hard to believe this is the first time a player has tried this, yet this is the first time I’ve heard of this suspension. LSU needs to do better at education or cheating or both.

The failed test penalty and cheated test penalty can't be the same because if it was everyone would try to cheat when they knew they were in danger of testing positive.

I've suggested before a 6 month punishment foe each offense. But, honestly I'm not sure 6 months is enough for PEDs.
I've tried to follow the logic of some of this.

Most of it is logical. Harsh, but logical.

However, one circle I can not square is how the use of a masking agent is basically just another banned drug and carries the same penalty of a fail.

Usually, the use of masking agents along with tampering/cheating are considered to be equitable. Under NCAA rules, if you are caught using a masking agent "over" PEDs, it's 1 yr just as it would be for a positive for the PED.

I understand the reason most are upset about this decision. However, unless Fulton is The Honeybadger reincarnated him being back isn’t going to be enough to win any significant games this year.

Because it puts them in an adverse position against the organization that governs all of their sports.

Well if anything I would think it should shine light on the inconsistencies of the NCAA. Someone has to push back eventually if everyone expects the NCAA to change.

Or brother Al Sharpton. I can see his headlines now, " if the punishment don't fit, you must acquit".

Such an absurd penalty for a guy who didn’t even test positive for the test. I mean seriously.

Ok, forgive my ignorance but how exactly and why did he tamper with the test?

I keep hearing how the handler of the test placed his urine In an unclean receptical. Was it not Fulton’s urine?

Detox drinks have been around since the 90’s, bama has replaced their Gatorade with it, did he not know about it?

He is being punished for his lack of integrity and shite character. Cheating on a test is worse than using the drug and you people giving this kid a bye is the same as the OSU dbags giving Luke Heimlich a pass on being a pedo.

Hahaha. So now, tampering with a drug test and then actually passing the drug test is on the same level as molesting a child. I thought I had heard it all. My goodness.

What exactly are you trying to say here? The more athletic the kid, the more likely they are to use drugs?

They man has character issues and he is being punished for breaking rules in place for athletes like him. Using your logic, he should have been a 2 star white kid and this would have never happened.

A kid who tries to cheat the system gets two years.

A kid who tried to cheat the system and used PEDs and gets caught gets a one year penalty.

A kid who skips the test completely gets a one year penalty which he can serve playing JC football and return to the NCAA immediately after that.

Anyone think something is wrong with the NCAA's system besides me?

You are a complete IDIOT.

He is an 18 year old kid that made a mistake. He has served a YEAR sentence or more. No one on this board has said he didn't deserve to be punished.

But 2 years is ABSURD given the penalties for other violations. What an absolute IDIOT you are.

I hope that one day when you make a mistake, the police are right there to bust your arse.

Yeah, but he tried to cheat on the test, which most would agree is worse than a mere failed test.

At first I thought the guy caught him and instructed him to pour fake sample out and try again.

The last two times I heard this described including Rabalais' article and the lawyers statement is that the guy simply observed Fulton beginning to cheat the test, and then observed fulton pour it out and fill it with his own urine. If this is the case - then the bylaw being used is in question.

To me, it seems that Fulton began to cheat and then changed his mind on his own. I could be wrong though.

My thoughts exactly.

The NCAA is the most arbitrary and hypocritical organization on the planet.
