Micah Baskerville suffers foot injury

With the first week of LSU football’s fall camp wrapping up, the Tigers have suffered the team's first injury, though it doesn't appear to be one that will keep a true freshman addition off the practice field for very long.

LSU freshman middle linebacker Micah Baskerville has suffered a foot injury that required minor surgery and a temporary walking boot, sources tell the Geaux247 staff. The foot injury is one that brings with it a timetable that expects to see him return to the practice field before the season opener against Miami, a source added.

A source indicated that the foot injury is similar to the one former Tiger defensive lineman Christian LaCouture suffered during the 2015 season. After LaCouture had minor surgery for a stress fracture in his foot the Thursday before the Western Kentucky game, the defensive lineman returned to action 16 days later for the team's matchup with Alabama. He recorded three tackles in the game, including a sack.

Hopefully he can come back stronger, need as much depth at Linebacker as possible, especially with Tyler Taylor suspended.

Already had the procedure done. Very minor, and went well. Will be ready for Miami game barring any setbacks.
