Freeman will be gone in two years if LSU is any good at all on defense, so

does that even matter anymore? I would personally like more stability for recruiting.
Not endorsing, but wondering about Mason. He seems to be a good D coach, and he will not likely be taking a HC job anytime soon. Thoughts!

Got to take the best available. You never can project what someone may do in the future.

There is no serious stability for the most part in coaching anymore. A new coach comes in and has a couple of really good years and then on to bigger and better things. It’s just the nature of it

This is drawback of having a head coach that "will hire the best coordinators"

You can't get stability from the coordinators staging long term.

Clemson is the ONLY exception because Venables is the only rare person that will and has stayed on.

That’s any good young coordinator. Look at the turnover at the coordinator position at Bama.

Watching his defense flying around blowing plays up, I'd enjoy watching him do that with our talent. Even if it's short term. We had Brady one season. Well worth it.

Yeah....the constant turnover in their coordinators positions has really hurt Alabama’s recruiting

This argument is so silly. Brady was here 1 year. Should we have not hired him?

Bottom line is we need a new defensive coordinator and we should go after the very best

Mason has already tasted a HC job, I guarantee he would take the first one he could get

If you’re making good coordinator hires, that’s what’s going to happen. Guys leaving for HC or NFL gigs would be a good thing. That’s how you attract good coordinators.

Replace freeman with joe Brady and reconsider your statement.

Dude, if he’s gone in year or two, it means he did a great job with our defense. Wtf is wrong with that? You want the best coach available, but because he might be sawed after, you want to go after someone not as good, because they’ll probably stay longer?

I don’t understand that line of thinking.

I can’t even begin to understand this mindset. You don’t want the best choice because he may be too good?

Here’s a different question. If Freeman helps give LSU another National Championship in the next 2 season, would anyone care if he leaves after that?

there are always up and comers, shite lets become a launching pad for guys and get all the young guns wanting to come here for a short stint and then move up. we want as many highly motivated guys as possible whether they stay a long time or not
