No. 4: Will the SEC's 'other guys' challenge Florida?
Don't look now, but Houston Nutt has Ole Miss firing on all cylinders; Arkansas can now start Michigan transfer Ryan Mallett as quarterback; Tennessee has the Kiffins and Ed Orgeron on the sidelines, and Gene Chizik is out to prove why he was the right hire at Auburn. Fasten your seat belts, Gators fans, there are some major speed bumps ahead.

No hint of LSU? Not even worthy of being the SEC's "other guys" to Florida???

Guess there is not enough of a story there for them to include us.

I love the pic of Ole Miss celebrating the victory over the 3rd place team in the Big 12 South. They acted like they won the NC or something.

We had a crappy year and Ole Miss had a great one. We win this year they will kill our arse again next yr. I honestly don't know why anyone in the media would put us there with the year we had. You have to earn the respect back.

No mention of LSU, UGA, Bama, etc.

You could look at this as a positive. We are considered more than just "other guys". Spin it how you will though. No all media outlets are as consumed with including positive vibes for LSU as some of the ranters.

Ole Miss should have been excited about that win. It was a big one for them and the SEC. They beat a team ranked much higher than them... and bad.

I agree that it was a good win, but they were running around the field with Ole Miss flags, like they achived much more than what they really did. The truth is, that they beat a team that was ranked 4th in their conference. They didn't even make their conference championship game. It wasn't even the best win of their season.

But it was a big win on New Year's Day and they beat the eventual National Champs and the defending National Champs. Any outsider would give them more hype for next year. I would put LSU in every article but no objective minded person is worried about pleasing the rantards.

look closely at the byline. Lisa Horn is the penultimate socal team blowjob. She hates Miles, the SEC and just about anything east of the mississippi and south of kentucky. her lifetime ambition is to be on her knees staring at little petey carrols crotch. fox sports is hg'ed in LA which is all you need to know.

What they "really did" was badly beat a top 10 team in major non-BCS bowl. That's a pretty lofty achievement for any team (we were sure pumped about doing it to Miami in '05, and that was just the Peach Bowl), and a huge event for a team with as little history of achievement as Ole Miss has.

You're right, it wasn't just the best win of their season. It was the best win of their last 4 decades.

Well put. I guess they don't have too much to look back on.

ole miss did have a great year but it was mainly due to its defense.i don't want to take anything away from their offense which was very good too but they will loose the defense this year and this wasn't nutts people it was o's. with our defense back and our offense hitting again they shouldn't beat us again for at least 5 years.

It will be the same old Houston Nutt next year in Ole Miss as it was in Arkansas for 12 years. He is the Dale Brown of college football. Can win when it is him against the world, but give him a little talent or a lot of talent (HIllis, Felix Jones, D-Mac, Shawn Andrews, Matt Jones, Ken Hamlin........) he can't get it done.

By the way Shep Smith promotes Ole Miss so much on Fox News that it makes me sick. He is a bonafide homer!!!!!

LSU had plenty of respect when they were winning. They need to get some tough wins under their belt for more respect.

When they started averaging 3 wins a year.
