For the LF haters....imagine LF in Bama's backfield in 2015 instead of Derrick Henry. LF's 1950 yards at 6.5 yds/carry is insane considering LSU's offensive philosophy and zero threat of a passing game. You give Leonard the extra 95 carries that Henry got and he'd have had over 2,560+. And don't you think he'd probably averaged a little more than the 6.5/attempt if he'd been behind the Bama oline and didn't have to face the Bama dline. C'mon folks....use common sense.

I'm not a hater, just saying Fournette had all the hype and Guice basically has the same average YPA.

Hmm, let's take a look.
How would you quantify that? Fournette caught more passes and had a better YPC than Guice.
Guice
Fr 85 Carries 8.5 YPC
So 183 carries 7.6 YPC
Jr 237 Carries 5.3 YPC
Fournette
Fr 187 Carries 5.5 YPC
So 300 carries 6.5 YPC
Jr 129 Carries 6.5 YPC
Injury prone is probably a stretch but he was injured his junior year. Part of that rests on the coaching staff letting him play in that Florida game.
Literally almost never happened.
Might be why Guices averaged dropped so much when LF was not there?
I doubt anyone thought this but he was better, probably the best back to play at LSU that didn't leave for other than football reasons (Cecil Collins was a beast, who knows what may have happened there. Personally, LF is still my favorite).

and consistant as well

as well as less injury prone.

It seemed like every other play Fournette would hobble to the sideline and collapse and you'd think that maybe he's done but here he'd be back in the game the next drive
Literally almost never happened.

Maybe this was just because of defenses keying off at LF7

I never really thought Fournette was leaps and bounds ahead of Guice at LSU.

The first injury was preseason and never fully healed. There was either a reinjury or new one at Auburn.
That’s the game where he did limp off and then come back and whiffed on a block, contributing to the controversial ending.

Yeah, my recollection may be fuzzy on some of that. He really should have been held out several games that he was not.
It seemed like every decision regarding his injuries was the wrong one that season. I'm not really certain he has ever fully recovered but I may be conflating some things there. A few minor differences that season and he ends up being the leading rusher in LSU history.

Guide was better at LSU and he will be better in the NFL because he isn’t a one trick pony. LF7 is your typical big workhorse RB while Guice may be 10-15 lbs smaller he still runs with great power and has vision. He’s a better receiver than LF and most importantly a better pass blocker. He’s a true 3 down RB that Washington would do well to center their offense around and make sure he touches the ball 20x a game.

The fact that we didn’t have a drop off in our running game is enough for me to be happy. Both are great.

LF7 was (and still is) a beast. Both he and Guice were amazing athletes.....even greater human beings. We were blessed to have them play in the hallowed ground of Tigah Stadium.
I miss them both.

Was LF better or was it just because he got more touches? LF has like 11 more touchdowns but he also got 150 more carries. YPA is about the same with Guice a tad ahead...
I already said DG was great. And just like LF, was dinged up his whole junior season. But LF was a more dominant college back. It was so awesome watching him crush defenders
