Former Tiger Brandon Rachal

Thought about former Tiger Brandon Rachal this morning, and was surprised to see he's leading a solid Tulsa team (6-1, 2nd in the AAC) in scoring, rebounding, steals, blocks, and minutes.
14.8 points, 6.3 rbs, 1.5 asts, 1.9 stls, and 0.8 blks on 50% shooting from the field in 30 minutes a night. Happy for him.

Too bad he couldn’t stay on the team here. Loved his potential but was a knucklehead

He was going to be a good one, just unfortunate he couldnt get his ducks in a row here. He build was so strong and he would be perfect in Wade's scheme.
Galen Alexander didn't last long at Georgetown and is out with Josh LeBlanc, who we happily took him but Alexander didn't do much while he was there by comparison.
Danya Kingsby and Daryl Edwards are having decent seasons for their teams this year as well. Kingsby is on Bradley and Edwards is on UTEP.

Completely forgot about that guy. Man, he'd fit very well on this squad

Glad he found a good spot and is playing well, watched them destroy Memphis last week or so. Wish he coulda stayed but shite happens, he was a favorite on this board.

I wish Edwards was still here, wouldn’t play as much but decent shooter and defender.

By far the best one that got away from all the ones that left. He’s an EW type talent

What were his issues here? School? Didn't take to coaching? I can't remember.

I think this was it, it was mostly kept private. It was something like Wade didn't suspend him but someone else was saying he can't play.

Yeah, he was a guy I felt like could really help LSU when he left.

He was clearly LSU's best individual defender on Wade's first team and was a guy you could see was going to be a solid player. Too bad he couldn't get his shite together because he very well could be a starter even on this very talented team.

He was one of the guys in that music video to wasn't he?

Yes, Brandon and Wayde.
Believe it was NBA Young Boy. It was not a good look, but they did not get suspended for it. Believe it was likely an academic issue which later led to his unofficial suspension.

He is a great kid. He played for my cousin at NCHS. IMO, the worse thing he did was commit to LSU. He needed to get out of state, and now we see what's happening. He's a very very good basketball player.

Wasn’t he one of the guys shooting kids with paintball guns from the dorm? Or did I dream that?

I think Will always like his intensity , defensive play and rebounding. Guess that intensity may have led to some clashes at times.
Will always seemed to be trying to coach him up and develop his game awareness. Appears the light has come on for him . Hope he continues to flourish at Tulsa.

From the outside looking in, it seemed like Wade wanted to keep him around. But it was one of the fights he had with the compliance dept at the end of his first year. Wade kept openly saying in the media that he didn't know why Rachal couldn't play. He probably figured out that compliance wasn't going to clear Rachal and he needed the spot for someone who could play.
Glad Rachal is doing well, though.

Didn't dream that, but he wasn't one of the three. Galen Alexander, Mayan Kiir and Wayde
