This is wonderful but we can't buy all the hype just yet. That #1 will look a little sus with more terrible game 3 pitching performances.

And that’s the way it should be. LSU did nothing to deserve a drop. I see a 4-0 week upcoming.

Didn’t realize how bad Tulane is this season in baseball.

It’s been weeks since LSU even played a game 3.

Should we contact Vitello and ask if it’s time for all the players and coaches to start acting like complete a**holes yet?
We’ve been at the top of the rankings for a while, so wearing fur coats and mouthing off to opposing teams, fans and even the umps seems to expected…

Name an SEC team that doesn’t have a sus 1, 2, or 3.

I wouldn't mind if someone jumps us. I don't care about being #1 or the 1 national seed at all. Being #1 at the end of the season is all that matters in baseball. The women's basketball was #3 at the highest, and ended up as a 3 seed. They were #1 only when it mattered.

It’s obvious most of you don’t watch any baseball outside of LSU. These posts make no sense.

meh.. i'd like to see us go wire to wire. And also buck the trend of #1 national seed not winning it all (only happened once.. in 1999 first year of the super regiona format).

It shouldn’t. We should absolutely be ranked #1 based on what we’ve done, but expectations need to be re-evaluated with the injuries to Shores and Edwards (and Ack). And Ty Floyd has had 2 really bad consecutive outing—and his start against Arkansas was terrible until he settled down. His SEC ERA is over 6.

Skenes and Herring are really the only arms I trust right now. Guidry looks like a dude, but still a small sample size and I’m not sure he can continue to throw that curve 80+% of the time before hitters start to make adjustments. We can still win the CWS, but we have very little room for error with slumps or more injuries. Multiple guys are gonna have to step up into bigger roles that they weren’t counted on having just 2 weeks ago. And it’s gonna be up to them, but also Jay and Wes to move guys around and find the right roles for them. Good thing is the SEC schedule gets a lot easier, and will afford us some experimenting. But Game 1s with Skenes have to be automatic wins from here on out. In the SEC, the regional, the Super, and Game 1 in Omaha if we get through the Supers. Which is why that Edwards injury is so devastating.

Jay and Wes will keep it together. Wes is simply one of the best pitching coaches on the planet on any level. Once he gets the kinks worked out and dialed in he takes guys to a different level.

In Johnson's we trust!!

I was reading earlier the SEC power rankings and they have Kentucky as #1 with the nations #1 RPI. Not sure who they use for RPI. Should make the UK series good.

As it should be.
The Double Header 3rd game was going to be a Blood bath and everyone knows it.
