For all you “schemers,” Sabans offensive scheme is nothing spectacular

It’s just executed with the best talent year in and year out. Their o-line, receivers, backs, and Tua would dominate in any scheme. Even the power-I.

If we want to start beating Bama, we have to start beating them the other 364 days a year.

1 it’s still better than ours

2. You can run a scheme predicated on dominating the opposing team if your always better than them. If you don’t have the best players you can’t do that. Playing grown man football is great when you’re the grown man in the room.

We are never going to outrecruit bama conaistently.

Not gonna happen. We have to keep working towards it, but we’ll have to use our brain a little more.

Exactly, Saban wins in February and it is over right there.

We're not going to beat Saban in February. So if that's your only hope, we might as well forfeit our games with them until Saban leaves.

What scheme? Did you criticize Aranda's scheme?
"The Tide set season highs in yards rushing (281) and yards per carry (7.59) against LSU as if to remind everyone that - yeah - we have an elite running game, too."
LSU was no match for Alabama talent wise.

Jesus. Hasn't Ed Orgeron been in charge of recruiting on the dline for years?

We’re just barely coming around to installing the types of concepts bama was using 3-5 years ago.

of course it's nothing spectacular, it doesn't need to be when you have those athletes.

the main problem you have when there's so much talent is misusing what you have.

Have an elite TE that can create mismatches? sure, use him.

have elite receivers? sure use them.

have elite rb? sure use them.

have the best qb in the country? yep use him and don't hold him back.

I would say the most impressive part of what they do is maximizing possessions by maximizing talent.

I don't know where you people come from. If you can't out recruit him.....and we can't. You have to out "scheme" them. Simple as that!

Yeah, but Bama was averaging 54 points per game sitting Tua for most or all of the 2nd half of every game. LSU gave up 29 with ZERO help from the offense and without the QB of their defense for the 1st half. Hell, we turned the interception into a negative by almost getting a safety and then letting them score before half.

The D gave up a lot of yards, but giving up 29 to that offensive juggernaut was still Bama's lowest output of the season by 10 points and 25 points below their season average.

On the other hand, Bama's rush D was giving up over 100 yards per game and we finished with 12 rushing yards.

Saban has 4 legit pro players on that offensive line if not the whole damn two deep. 2 first rounders are leading the way and we couldnt get within a few yards or tua all night. We lost because we were man handled upfront in both sides and yes it has seen injuries, transfers, and other attrition hurt both lines depth and ability. Will come back over time in the next two seasons.

To sit there and run play action with the way the OL was playing was silly. The CEO and SE were playing not to get blown out.

Then in the post game he blames the talent level of the players.

Sure if you always have better players by far than the other team you are more likely to win. Good luck recruiting those guys to play in that Offense...for a coach that will blame them after the game.

Why the post game comments have not been discussed more here is beyond me. It had a similar feel as the Canada debacle last year...

In order to scheme your OL has to play well. Bama made our OL look like babies. They were in the LSU backfield ON EVERY PLAY.

The Saints scheme like a mother fricker. It works. Why? Arguably they currently have the best OL in the world. Their scheme works because their OL is all world.

LSU just needs better OL play. Hold your blocks. Move our feet. Except for Hines and Chushberry the middle of the OL was getting blown up. I hate to say if but Brumfield does not match up well with strong DTs. And both tackles feet are slow as shite. There are many many problems on the OL.

GumboPot, that is about the closest someone has come to bringing me off the scheme team. The OL play was terrible for sure. If you run empty and gun you are still only going to have 2sec/play. At that point with a QB who is not very nimble you are in a high risk situation.

O saying he has to recruit a better line in a press conference is what bothers me the most. You just don’t do that.
