He's not stupid. He was talking about seeing the issues again this week. In reference to another great defense they have to play against.

quote:

"We've got to correct the issues that we had, because we'll see them again,'' Muschamp told reporters afterward.

They will see "the issues" again this week.

that is pretty cocky, they are sayin Bama is the team to beat despite what LSU has done this seaon to ranked teams on the road, LSU needs to smoke these people 45-0. Completely shutdown Rainey and Demps!

It doesn't make sense that he would be talking about fixing issues in reference to facing Alabama again. Why would he be worried about fixing issues to face Bama way down the road? He knows they have bigger problems before then, even if his players may want to make themselves feel better by thinking they are going undefeated from here on out. They need to fix the issues this week because they are facing LSU. He knows who the next opponent is. And like someone said, even if he was referring to facing Bama again, it would not make one difference in the outcome of the game.

I guess that's a fair interpretation. I disagree, though, in that's what he actually meant. Plus, if you want to be literal about it and construe his words literally, then according to what he said, there's no way they'll see the "issues" again if, in fact, they do correct--and thus quell--those "issues," as Muschamp suggests they'll need to do.

Regardless, I don't think there's any question as to what Rainey meant:

"Just call it a punch in the mouth. And we just regroup, become a team again, and take another step forward, because the season ain't over yet," said Rainey, who was even hoping for a rematch with the 5-0 Tide in Atlanta in early December. "All we've got to do is play our cards right, and we'll see them again," said Rainey, like Brantley a redshirt senior.

No, it's not. It's the correct interpretation. Watch the whole interview. He wasn't talking about seeing Alabama again. He was talking about having to deal with those issues again.

Everyone has an interpretation of what each of them meant. Reminds me of the OBC in 1997, when he said to his gatard team “ok boys, lets get our 50 points and get out of here”. No respect for LSU. Most every gatard I know personally believe they should have won last season. I think Miles should use this to his advantage and leave not doubt. I want to beat them so bad, they will be saying there is no doubt they just lost to the best team in the nation

Best half? The guy had one good throw, and pretty much stunk it up the rest of the time he was in there.
