Steve Fisher won it I think after he replaced Bill Frieder, who was taking the job at AZ St. Bo Schembecher let him go saying he wanted a Michigan Man leading them into the tourney

I like your enthusiasm dude. But even if we had Wade, I don't think we could win it all this year. Our defense is too shaky.

Also, in this case, you must use "their," the possessive form.

The other option would be "its" (if you want to go the singular route, i.e. LSU Basketball "its" first ever national championship.

In 1989 Michigan won the title after firing their head coach towards the end of the regular season.
