I could see an argument for Finley having more potential but if the OL is going to take games off, I think it's gotta be Johnson. I liked his pocket presence and some of his moves avoiding the rush. He threw a nice pass that TM6 while evading the rush and off balance. He did throw a few off his back foot when it wasn't necessary that worried me, but he seems to have better touch. What are your thoughts?

Probably both.

I dont See either doing to well.

And I see us pulling on for the other at the end of games

Finley if he learns to read blitz packages

I think Max has much room for progression and has a better understanding of defenses

Both have a long way to go

I don't think they'll ever put the team on their back and win top 10 matchups like Burrow did, but I like their potential as true freshmen more than I did Lee/Jefferson or Harris/Jennings

I like their potential too.

But we’re talking last 3 games.

1112 yards, 11 TD, 3 INT through 3 games

LSU’s passing game will be fine next year. After that, probably fricked.

You don’t think Finley or Johnson could get better in 2 years?

Both will play. What a time to learn.......3 top ten teams in a row.....I am sure both will look bad at times. but what can you expect. Both young men are doing great considering all else surrounding LSU football. Maybe in 4 years, they will be almost as good as Joe Burrow was when he played for LSU.

What do you mean we are probably fricked?

Both Nuss and Howard will be on campus by that time. Best man wins the job.

Finley has had his opportunity. It's time to let max start some games and see if he performs better than finley was able to. I believe he has earned that right with the way he performed late in the Texas am game. shite, I think we would have won the game if max had been starting the entire game from what I saw. He has got to start johnson vs bama and see where it goes. He deserves a shot, and why the hell not at this point? Finley looked like shite last night and deserved to get pulled and bitched out by coach o the way he did. Finley pretty much single handedly lost the game for us. I know u win and lose as a team, but holy shite man, he threw a pick six, made bad reads, bad throws, was very inconsistent all night long with his passes even when they were completed, he can't throw wrs open with his arm, he can't read defenses, he looks to hit his safety valve way too early most of the time, he has no situational awareness, when it's obvious he's about to get blitzed he just fricking stands there and tries to throw the ball over the middle of the field with a guy hanging off of him and about to bring him down, he freaks out when pressured and just throws the ball up for anybody to catch the damn thing, and he isn't mobile on top of everything else. Other than that, finley played well last night and deserves to start vs bama, lol.

Better to go with Max & some mobility.

Finley will be a sitting duck against the $aban D.

Did you see how green his jersey was? He was under attack all night long. You still can't make that last throw, but to say he single handedly lost the game for LSU is just wrong.

He was the main reason we lost the game. Idk what game u watched. It's crazy how max johnson can move around the pocket and find a way to move the ball and complete passes like he did when given the chance against the same team and circumstances. If johnson had started instead of finley, lsu wins that game without a doubt. That's why I say finley was the reason we lost. He scored more points for Texas am than he did for lsu. That should tell you something. This isn't the first time that's happened this season either. Did u watch the auburn game btw? If finley didn't play a down last night I'm very confident that we win with johnson at qb under the same situations finley was in. Sure, he got pressured last night, but so was johnson, and he made plays and scored with his limited opportunity. Stop making excuses for the guy, he isn't our best option at qb and that's apparent. I stand by my opinion that finley being our qb last night until late in the 4th was the reason we lost the game. Period.
