re: Finebaum on sportscenter talking heisman
Trevor Lawrence might be the most sure fire NFL QB great to play college football in a long time but that is not what the Heisman is based on. If Burrow can keep on playing the way he has been playing and LSU continues winning then Burrow will be right there prominent in the Heisman voting. It is in part a popularity contest so who knows what happens with it

As much as I hate to admit it, this is right. They name the heisman finalists in July and from then on they have to lose it while everyone else has to earn it.

We should know all too well that all it takes is one game to lose the heisman.

I'd only take a serious look at this after Florida. If Joe is still hovering around the 75% completion rate and has thrown 20+ TDs and -5 ints he will be in the top 3. Then it comes to the performances down the stretch.

Yeah I agree.

And I think he'll be at 20 TDs 3 INTs and 75% before the Florida game kicks off. If he goes 3/1 for 65% in that game, he'll be a favorite down the stretch.

And we know it will all come down to Bama.

re: Finebaum on sportscenter talking heisman
Lawrence gets to beat up on near D2 level ACC schools for the next 4 months.

Obviously Burrow has the lead now but he will be in the conversation regardless at the end of the year.

JB will have to keep ballin throughout SEC play, and especially vs Alabama to have a shot

Man that would be weird to have a transfer from OSU win LSUs first Heisman in 70 years.

It's Tua, Hurts and Burrow right now. Lawrence is playing himself out of the conversation.

It won't matter what Burrow's stats are. He has to win the heads-up vs Tua or look great in a close loss to have a real shot.

Lawrence wont win because Etteinne os their best player and will take awy votes.

Right now Hurts is the media darling, so the current front runner.

If we beat Bama, Joe wins it. A huge game, playoff wise, that late in the year will make or break Joe's chances. Unfortunately, football is won in the trenches and Bama dominates us on the lines.

If we go undefeated and win the SEC Championship, he'll win it.
