Finebaum comments on SEC Nation and LSU

On his radio show yesterday, Finebaum was asked if he enjoyed his time in BR. He said he always enjoys his time and said “for reasons I don’t want to get into” they hadn’t been there in a while. He said “but now with the new administration, Scott Woodward, we are happy to be back”
Anyone know the scoop or would like to speculate wildly?

Aleva felt there was only enough room in Baton Rouge for one pencil necked geek that enraged LSU fans?

Plus Gordy decided to drop his show from ESPN 104.5 timeslot.
I'm sure he was not happy being dropped from a pretty strong SEC market.

The only thing I can think of is that finebaum made some comments about the Miles/Herman/O fiasco and Alleva got butthurt and made it known that Finebaum wasn’t welcome

Alleva and Finebaum hate each other. Aleeva is a worthless SOB. Except for hiring Will Wade. And Coach O. On second thought, Aleeva is a great American who gets the last laugh.

Part of it I think Aleeva enjoyed the 2:30 tee time life style too much and didn't want to rock the boat so he let his superiors push him around. However his biggest weakness was he was too influenced by outside factors and didn't have strong convictions. When left alone he made good decisions. He just couldn't manage the outside influence. As the old adage goes, when you try to make everyone happy you make no one happy.

Just further reinforces that someone that gets their feelings hurt that easily shouldn't be running a major athletic department.

I enjoy living in a place where I'm frequently on the road with no 4G or LTE. I don't care how old you are, a decent FM signal is better than nothing.
Not sure about 104.5 being in Jackson. I spend a lot of time in the St. Francisville / Woodville area and I can't get either 104.5 or 104.9. A transmitter in Jackson should come in loud and clear.

Finebaum gets a ton of hate but I don’t think he hates LSU like people think.
He said Baton Rouge was amazing and can’t wait to go back. He’s also said O is coach of the year and Joe is his Heisman winner.

I agree. This season Finebaum has been a lot more favorable to LSU. Maybe it's that he appreciates where the program is heading. Maybe Spears is softening his views on LSU. Maybe it's Alleva being gone. I've even seen him call out Saban and Bama for having a weak schedule.
I still find him obnoxious, but not as bad as years past.
