Does anyone know the scoop on this Templet kid from STM? I'll hang up and listen.

Who do you have your eye on for winning 3rd? Reid or a newby?

Smith or Slaughter.

They've been hitting well according to the box scores at least.

If anyone looks better than Reid so far I would say it is Smith. I haven't noticed any holes in his game, as yet. Slaughter is another candidate who hits for power but, I think his defense could be better. These opinions are based only on what I've seen in fall scrimmages, so don't put too much stock in them.

Very good swing from the left handed side. Not a really big kid, but he's got above average size. A very tough out in HS.

Mason Template....6'2 , 205 . Throws right , swings it from the left side . Played football at STM, tore his labrum. He had surgery and has gone through extensive rehab… before the injury he was 88 mph on the mound… Nowhere near that now. He will play 1st and DH . He can swing it..,good gap to gap power. He can also drive the ball off the park. He has a pretty high ceiling. He played for Marucci … At one point At World wood bat he was 19 of 22.

First base and D/H are going to be crowded this spring. With the returning starters we have, playing time for any newcomer will be at a premium. Pinch hitting and running will be how I see some of the freshmen being used.

The first weekend of November. I think the games are on Thursday, Friday and Sunday of that weekend.

I think it would take something unforeseen to dislodge Robertson, Freeman, or Papierski from the positions they manned last season. The outfield has two starters from last season returning with several very capable candidates vying for the remaining spot. I think the outfield will see some changes this spring. First and third base or still under contention from several players each and I see intense battles for both of these slots.

Battled some injuries the last two years in high school, but if completely healthy will challenge for a starting spot based on his ability to hit for a high average, drive balls in the gaps and run and also hit it out of the park.
