my boy! (Not really mine but a friend’s kid). I’m so excited for him to be playing ball for the Tigers!

He's been doing very well this fall. I think he is the front runner for catcher next spring.

I’m hopeful for sure. May the best player win the job but I’m admittedly biased. He tore it up at LSUe and all summer up north. It’s cool that he and the Jordan’s will possibly all take the field together again.

I would like to see that K/BB (13/12) ratio change a little...a lot of free bases given up by the pitching staff. But it's the fall, plenty of time to iron that out.

The cumulative K/BB ratio for the fall is 147/68 so far.

Looks like team is very capable offensively and that was without Coomes who will likely be a different player if 100% healthy.

I think the frontline pitching will be good enough, it's the back end where there is some concern but yeah pitching will be better in the spring. The pitching staff will be spread out during fall with pitch counts in effect so you will get some anomalies throughout fall with the staff.

In this scrimmage of 6 innings, 9 pitchers were used, 7 in 2 1/2 innings. That didn't give most of them time to get settled in on the mound. I think this could have been a factor in the high number of walks.

A lot of the names will change, but it's still an extremely talented team. We will go as far as the new pitching rotation will take us IMO.

ERRONEOUS!

Cabrera had a ball that went 400 ft to center that I'm convinced no one else in college baseball could catch other than Duplantis. And then he has the dagger 2-run single to right. Both of those hits were 2 of the top 3 hardest hit balls of the scrimmage. But most importantly, he came in to finish the game for the gold when Petersen couldn't throw a strike. Got out of it in 3 pitches. ETA: I'm only messing with you, Scub. Feduccia had a great game.

Also, can we talk about how lost Beau was in LF? He made a throw home that I'm convinced didn't top 60 MPH. And it was so high and offline, that it allowed the runner to get to 2nd. And then he misplayed Hughes' double off the wall so badly that at one point he was running backwards in the direction of CF.

If last night was any indication of our second line pitching, I propose we cancel all the midweek games.

Alan Dunn and Mainieri told the homeplate umpire before the game to call a tight zone. They want the pitchers to get disciplined to throw strikes consistently.

That's interesting. Maybe I'm in MLB mode, but I thought his zone was pretty big. I don't remember many of those walks being called on close balls. In fact, there were a few Ks looking that seemed a few inches inside.

Ell, I agree with your assessment of Cabrera. The sound of the ball coming off his bat was different. He had some boom in his swing.

We made the same comment last night. In fact, we said CPM may have told the plate ump to have a loose zone to encourage the hitters to swing.

It's not an opinion. It's a fact.
