Look. I'm not trying to knight for Dr. Alexander. As I said earlier, I was not pleased with his approach to the budget situations despite the positive outcomes. I just lol at people who don't even know the schools in the LSU System and come here and start blabbing about nothing. I know you aren't one of them.

Hmm...so if we're keeping score - and we are- still not one accomplishment for F. King Alexander. What reason is there not to fire him?
Golfer says he has streamlined the curriculum but has not had any evidence of that. I don't think that is part of the Flagship agenda but I could be wrong . At one point Emmert had said if it wasn't a school of excellence he wanted it gone or deemphasized. But I have not heard that as part of the Flagship agenda in some time

My understanding is that the gen Ed courses at Eunice, Alexandria, Shreveport, and main campus are all cataloged the same now.

Flagship Agenda is basically defunct, unfortunately.

Out of state scholarships to Bama
And this is why my national honors society kid in FL is most likely going to fricking Bama (or UF) when all they have ever wanted to do was go to LSU. F you, F King. Get it together Louisiana... please.
And while I'm at it, frick you Les Miles for making me have to eat shite all day at our friends' cookout trying to explain why LSU didn't fire you last year.

Look at it his way: UF is a far superior academic institution than LSU........is what it is

The long term results of Bama's massive OOS recruitment efforts will be interesting to look at in 15-20 years. One part of me sees how brilliant of an approach it is. The other is will it alienate the in-state taxpayers and students from elsewhere just using UofA to get a cheap degree and go back to wherever they were.
Neither are wrong. Will just be interesting to see how it plays out.

I understand King has likely overseen the implementation of the consolidation. I just don't believe that is an accomplishment of leadership as much as an accomplishment of an operator. I am sure he has played a role in making sure it happened but Droddy and others did the heavy lifting there . I don't know what he has done with the curriculum . I know he has not shown the leadership publicly that I think he needed. he is a very bright guy and is well thought of in the higher Ed community. Likely he will be Given consideration for a cabinet level position with Hillary so we may get our problem solved . I don't think he should have basicly publicly cut Alevas legs out. I personally think Aleva has done a great job of overall leadership of the Department. He has just not done a good job hiring coaches.

Alexander is a raging alcoholic. His breath is constantly smelling of liquor.

F.King sucks and he's a moron because he doesn't realize the "natives are restless". When the masses are this pissed off you better do something.

That would be an accomplishment worth touting. We need some more of those wins !

You won't find anything in there I disagree with.

Damn. I had a hard time deciding whether to downvote you or upvote you.
I started thinking upvote because of this...
quote:
If you want to blame someone, blame our ex-governor who famously said that his own party had to quit being the "party of stupid" and then spent the rest of his term being stupid.
...but then you went all batshit with this...
quote:
Alexander does not run the athletic department--- Joe Aleva does, so if you don't want to blame Jindal, blame Aleva.
Alexander has done a remarkable job leading the university through some of its toughest years.
Alexander is the cancer that infects the whole university. Alleva was actually trying to do something to help within his sphere of influence, but he handled it like the idiot he is and Alexander shut him down because he thought a bad decision done the wrong way was better than a good decision done the wrong way.
So, you got a downvote, although I acknowledge and appreciate your ability to recognize the true enemy of LSU, Bobby Jindal.

I graduated in 1987. Well, the first time. It's not surprising we have similar perspectives on this particular issue (not suggesting you agree with me on others).

2015 was the highest enrollment in LSU history. Was 2014 the most successful year in football history?
You are not controlling for other factors. The success of LSU football, or at least the appearance of competence in the handling of it, is bound to affect enrollment. Studies have shown that football success is correlated with alumni contributions and the number of applicants. LINK

Dumb. You don't fire a university president because you're unhappy with the football team.

You're a fricking idiot. King has done amazing things for the university. I'm so sorry the football team lost yesterday, but dad st fg to fire the head of a UNIVERSITY that has done great things because a sport lost a game, is just fricking dumb. Grow up.
Unfrick your face....
Then frick it again.

While I certainly believe and assert that his role in athletics has played a part, it's much bigger than that. You're certainly entitled to your opinion, I've merely laid out my opinion of where I believe F. King has failed in leadership and what I expect from our President, and I stand by it. I'm an LSU "constituent," and he has embarrassed me and more importantly LSU... I want a change in leadership.

This is an athletic board people not a board about LSU academics or politics. But if u think Alexander is amazing u r young and naive. LSUs problems have existed for at least 50 years as I can go back that far. Too many state schools, under and inconsistent funding, Louisiana politics, etc.

Yeah man, actually I am very curious to see how it plays out. Truth be told, I'm really just pissed because I might have a kid at Bama.
