Emmitt Williams, Naz Reid = 1 and done.

No doubt.

Why are all you people trying to use logic? This kid is a high flyer. The NBA loves high flyers more than small forwards who can shoot. 1 and Done.

If you would like to point out all the 1st round 6'6-6'7 power forwards without a true shot the NBA has drafted recently, feel free to post them

I think people are seeing 5-Star + 44 pt game and ignoring everything else (or that’s all they know)

How many championships do they have with the one and done model? Is it really superior to a Villanova model that is less reliant on one and dones?

The one-and-done rule went into effect in 2005

Calipari's first season at UK was 09-10. In that first class he signed Wall, Counsins, Bledsoe, and Orton, all one-and-done players. That first team won the SEC and reached the Elite 8. The year prior, UK finished 7th in the SEC.

In his time at UK, Calipari has won 1 national title, played for another, and reached 4 Final Fours.

In the same time period, Jay Wright has reached 2 Final Fours (winning both). However, he also failed to make the sweet 16 5 times and missed the tournament once. Compare that to Calipari who in 9 years has only failed to reach the sweet 16 twice (one time the missed the NCAAT altogether)

Until 14-15 Villanova and Wright were somewhat of the poster-childs for underachieving. If you compared both programs for the same 9 year period, it's hard to say Kentucky hasn't been the much better program.

There is, of course, more than one way to be a successful program. But IMO, you NEVER pass on great talent, even if they may only be around for one year.

Complete wild card. I have read that his outside shot is much better then we realize, but have not seen that in any highlights at all. He looks about as athletic as possible so I would have no problem letting him play as a small forward/perimeter guy because i do think he will be fine on defense. If he gave you great defense, great rebounding, and scored a ton of put backs and dunks at that position I would def take that. Plus playing him there should help him improve there. If he looks great playing on the perimeter/small forward....could be a 1 and done. Otherwise he will need to keep developing. 2 years up to the full 4. Getting drafted at all as a power forward that size is possible, but very tough. Elton brand was not much bigger if at all and he was the top pick out of Duke, but I cant think of too many others like that.

I watched the JB Classic, and there was not a lot of defense during that game. (As it is in most all star games) Some of those 44pts, were not very highly contested dunks. And I'm sure a lot of the players are friends and want to see their buddy get the points.

Five conference championships and a national championship. And six Sweet Sixteen appearances, six Elite Eight appearances and four Final Four appearances.

Did you actually watch the game? It was a bunch of uncontested dunks. Don't get me wrong. I'm not knocking Williams. I'm really excited about him being here next year.

People saw Ben Simmons who was a 5 Star, #1 overall player and assumed he would be like Kevin Durant. When they actually saw him play, they turned on him because he didn't meet expectations.
