Listening to Richard Dickson with Hanagriff this morning Dickson was saying he feels the scheme and even play calling vs Arkansas was fine. He broke down a couple of plays as examples one he said could have gone to the house if the blocks were executed properly. I’ll take his word for it, RD knows how to break down film.

So my question is, if this is an issue in week 10, who’s responsible? Les? Cam? Stud? Trump? Hillary? I mean it can’t be the Slinger and the OL coach with a Super Bowl ring could it?

This is true of pretty much all play calls

After the Alabama game I was in favor of it.

It will not be an issue against Rice.

You will see Burrow standing up right most of the game. You will see receivers get wide open. You will see that screen game we have been failing at bust big. You'll see running lanes the size of the grand canyon.

And then you'll see 100 threads next week with people saying, "I told you so," about Ensminger and Orgeron fixing the offense.

But Texas A&M might be a different story.

Rather than total execution of the OL, I would try to blend them in with recruits. If this fails, execute them.

He's right!

There were posters down playing the offensive stats and said those stats would look a lot different (better) after Ark and Rice. Whipping up on 2 horrible teams, one being the worst in NCAA, will fix all the issues on offense.

Come on, man, I don't think it's that desperate. These are just kids, after all. Maybe we can coach them up.

In all seriousness, the regression of the OL is a serious concern and warrants major attention. I cut them some slack early because of injuries and chemistry, but against Arky, I think we saw the 5 play that the coaching staff wanted to play. I know Brumfield may still be nursing an injury, but FFS that was bad - particularly the pass blocking. And the backs had to work too hard in the running game. We should have mauled Arky.

The line shuffling because of injuries hasn’t helped. Hines isn’t ready to make the calls and Brumfield just isn’t very good.

I think you have a situation where they’re all afraid to mess up, so they keep messing up

Actually no, I really never complain about those

I don’t typically comment on “scheme” cause frankly I’m not even sure what most people that whine about that mean. As for play calling with rare exception 99% of the time people are griping about that with 20/20 hindsight, unless it’s something really stupid like toss dive on 3rd and 9 or short side options with statue QBs or play action from your own 1

I'll say, quite honestly, that after the Fla and Bama games, executing the OL should have been at least an option

I agree there have been challenges and I can adjust for that but that doesn’t explain why it’s getting worse at some point you can adjust and adapt

If you follow the paper trail, Miles/Cam trained players on offense did OK under Slinger from 2015 #37 to #65 in scoring, once attrition happened it's gone downhill.
Other than 2014 #76, Miles/Cam scoring offenses ranked from 23rd, 37th, and prior to Cam was anywhere from #9 through #50s except for the 2009 #71.
IIRC, I posted the 2005-2015 avg was #37 a few days ago.

Convenient to blame it on talent to save face, but previous staff was doing at least ok with the offensive talent recruited.
If anything credit Aranda for winning extra games with low scoring offenes, something Miles couldn't do with his two #70s ranked offenses.

Nonsense. Absolute nonsense.

FFS, the offense is so simplistic LSU doesn't even attempt the hard count most games.

LSU's offense is not good enough.

I believe the performance, or lack thereof by the OLine has created more problems than we actually had...BUT
did we not have a lot of injuries this year in the line?

I live out of town and injury reports do not make it here.

Man I love Richard and Hester for what they did for the program but don’t think for one minute that they’re not extremely biased.

We simply have too many NFL players to struggle with a team that North Texas and Vanderbilt scored at will on.

You have players playing out of position, players playing before they're ready and some players that just aren't capable of playing where they're playing. That being said after rewatching the Arkansas game the offensive line didn't play that bad.
