Les Miles asked attendees at his postgame news conference Saturday whether anyone in the room was alive the last time LSU posted back-to-back shutouts at Tiger Stadium.
While some of those media members were firmly in middle age, nobody there had been alive since October 1941, a couple of months before the Pearl Harbor invasion pulled the United States into World War II, when the Tigers tied Mississippi State 0-0 and beat Rice 27-0 on consecutive weekends.

I don't see us getting a shutout this week. Looks like State has decent offense this season. I think we win by couple of tds, but no shutout.

Huge accomplishment!

Does anyone not find it hilarious that Ching mentions Auburn and Texas A&M's fast paced offense, that of which we have OWNED the last 2 years.

The defense looks great this year, definitely playing at an elite level. I feel like a shutout is possible again this week, I just don't think the score will be too high with how the offense has been

I wouldn't say we "owned" Auburn last yr...they wore us down pretty good in the 2nd half

We're 3rd in total defense fwiw. For comparison....Bama is 10th and are SOS is about 40 points higher. Just sayin.

So like I have stated earlier, we will soon be in another World War

LSU had back to back shutouts during 1985 season.
Shut out Kentucky and Ole Miss. There was a bye week between games though.

The reason why LSU won last year is cause our offense outscored MSU's.
Hope our defense shows up and keeps us in the game till the 4th.
4th Q is ours....we will run on their corpses if we have to

That's how all games are won, by scoring more points than the opposition. Also, the defense held their offense to 3 second half points. So, it seems the defense did its part to assist the offense in outscoring that MSU offense.

I need to see how the DL and LBs can handle a strong SEC rush before I begin throwing the word "elite" around to describe this defense.
