Jesus Christ - you know what parents do when their kids do something stupid but harms no one. Chew their arse out, take action then and move on.

Should they wake up everyday and remind the world that little Johnny littered 4 days ago? Are they scapegoating by suggesting this should not be a national news story?

Kid does stupid thing. Coaches yells and punishes. The end.

Well he can silence this by going beast mode from here on out and "earning" it. That will do it.

I hope when he does go beast mode and stops in front of the student section to throw up his "b", like he did after scoring last week, he will stay there a few seconds and let the students yell BUGA ( pronounced Boo- gah) to him so the Rant will melt down again next week at such an outrageous occurrence. really hope that happens.

Yeah, don't understand why anyone is crying about the criticism. He made a statement he hasn't earned, he now needs to go out and earn it.

Would he be getting this much criticism of he was just some small time 3rd stringer?

Of course not, people would have just laughed it off.

But now that we have someone that the media and fans have built up to be something, they are jumping at the chance to tear him down.

This is something to have fun with. Laugh about it and move on.

Prob best for everybody to move on.

Exactly! They should kick his arse off the team, bring him up on charges, and arrest his parents for raising someone with such low character. Les has completely lost control of these kids.

The funny thing is.. if some walk-on did this as a joke, we would all be laughing our asses off. It would be just good natured fun.

It's only a problem because he's young and talented

When LF was at the 26 running forward, the guy was frozen on the 25. He turned his hips and started running for the endzone and at the 5 he was close enough to grab his ankles.

Again you are not being factual... LF was still running parallel to the 26 when the defender had turned and starting running back... gap close to a yard at the 20, even at the 15 and pulled away by the last ditch dive.

Anyone construing that as 'ran down' has an agenda and that is all.

That's how I feel. It wasn't a great idea but let's not act like it's a huge deal. The guy was just excited about scoring his first td and made a poor choice. It's time to move on.

It's something they should cover with Freshman from day one.

I'm sure Miles has this under control now.

This is trolling, the young man didn't break any laws or punch anyone. Lay off!

Trolls like to smell the crap that's being stirred, someone needs to stick their noses in a toilet just before flushing it.

Well, it was a juke, not "running parallel", but whatever. He had momentum and the other guy didn't. And they were 2 yards apart when he was heading downfield, and the guy closed to within grasping range. Call it what you will, but someone like Kevin Faulk with that spacing and positioning would have made it to the endzone without the guy laying a finger on him (and would have beaten the other two guys to the corner as well).

Wow, how sensitive are you "Buga" guys? What part of the gap closing to a yard at the 20 and pulling even at the 15 is not being "run down"? All I said was he didn't outrun the guy the way I thought he would have and I was surprised to learn he doesn't have elite speed. I know the guy had an angle to close on him (and the other guys even more so), but top level speed -- like I'd heard he had -- would have beat the angle. I saw the same last week. He's fast, but not elite fast, so I heard wrong. No big deal.

What kind of "agenda" do you have to have to be that defensive?

Seriously, it's like they think he flipped the bird to the crowd.

Maybe it is time to start paying these players. They are being treated as a professional athlete, might as well start paying them like it.

For the record, I do not believe they should be paid. But I do think adults should allow 18 to 21 year olds to play a freaking game without criticizing their character for striking a pose and having fun.

Done...let this be the last reply...please. An 18 year old caught up in all the hype thrown upon him.

Watch the replay, he ran parallel for several yards.

Not when they both turned north and south.

Yes, the defender was 2 yards closer to the end zone when they started and ended up having to fruitlessly dive at his ankles.

Not sensitive at all - I am just not blind and making shite up

And again you are ridiculous. Let me type slower for you to help out.

When LF was on the 26, the dude was on the 24
When LF was on the 21, the dude was on the 20
When LF was at the 15, the dude was at the 15
At the 4, he was behind LF. That is not 'running down'. Some may call it the exact opposite.

No you said he was run down and you are wrong. Crawfish all you like....

quote:

and I was surprised to learn he doesn't have elite speed.

Given your memory of the run I can understand your faulty conclusion.
quote:

I know the guy had an angle to close on him (and the other guys even more so), but top level speed -- like I'd heard he had -- would have beat the angle.

He gained several yards of position on a guy in 25 yards... you may believe that 'elite speed' running backs gain more then several yards over 25 yards, but the facts will disappoint you. The difference between 4.4 and 4.6 40 time is 1.8 yards over 40 yards. He did just fine.

quote:

He's fast, but not elite fast, so I heard wrong. No big deal.

Gotcha. You are right even though you haven't watched the play from within a mile; Miles is wrong when he says he is one of the fastest if not fastest players on the team (or you think this team is really slow); Cameron is wrong when he echoed it, Magee also and about 5 other players.... Thank goodness we had your insight for the uppers to reach this definitive conclusion for us.

quote:

What kind of "agenda" do you have to have to be that defensive?

I am not defensive on his behalf; I am defensive of the facts. There is plenty of things to point to where he can improve or did the wrong thing - but making shite up is a different ballgame.
