Huge difference.

PP7 was a Heisman contender and had just returned a punt for a TD on primetime TV against a big-name opponent.

LF scored on a 4 yard run against an FCS opponent after running for 18 yards in his first college game.

I'd say the pose was just a wee bit premature, don't you think?

The fact that so many on the Rant are defending the pose is just mind-boggling to me.

You do realize that you can still love the guy, but hate the pose.

The media's obsession with this is puzzling and laughable.

The only thing the media likes better than building someone up, is tearing them down when they underachieve.

Fournette isn't the one who put out odds on his heisman chances.

But LF was the one doing the Heisman pose!!!!!!!

Jesus, the excuse-making and enablement on the board is just sickening.

I hope none of you are parents.

He opened up himself to this. Now he has to live with it! Oh and Charles Woodsen's pose was much better. I'm just disappointed that LF couldn't be more original.

I'm just saying he is and was a heisman candidate. He's a name-brand type player.. and I kind of hope the #7 heisman thing continues. Peterson was in the discussion, Mathieu got the invite, and now it's Fournettes turn to at least make that trip once.

Next #7.. Dylan Moses

ESPN Calling out Fournette

honestly, as humble and quiet as he's been since he's been in Baton Rouge...if this is the only thing negative he does in his 3-4 years at LSU ...then everything will be okay.

everybody calm down.

James Moran said it perfectly in his Tiger Rag article:

Was it over the top? Yes.

Was it selfish? Probably.

Was it premature? Absolutely.

But let’s take a step back and look at what this really was — a teenager got a little carried away after he scored his first touchdown.

Leonard Fournette's Heisman Pose a Teaching Moment

and geaux Leonard! Time to move on from this nonstory.

It's all part of the grand plan. Relax! ESPN will definitely come around and even spin it to glorify all this if he blows it open this season.
If not, it will be a forgotten thing of the past.

He's 18 years old and has been told he's the best ever his entire life. I'm not surprised he did something as stupid as striking a Heisman pose in his second game against a freaking FCS team. It's really not a big deal.

But I also hope Les chewed him out and reminded him that he's still a nobody at the college level until he actually accomplishes something.

The entire exchange should have taken 30 seconds and then been put to bed.

I guess it was LSU fans that put him on Pre-season Heisman watch lists and Heisman odds betting lists.

In the 3rd quarter, LSU drove the ball mainly by running. LF was the main work horse on this drive and got it down to the four yard line. I thought ok next play LF will run it in for his second TD, but Miles sent in Hillard. Hillard runs into the huddle and turns to LF. You can see him say something like, "I got this!". LF threw his head back and replied, "ohman!"

Probably from striking "The Pose" on his first visit to the end zone.

"I guess it was LSU fans that put him on Pre-season Heisman watch lists and Heisman odds betting lists."

None of this equates to currently. Was anyone in the media talking about him going into game two, when he did this? Is he currently on any Heisman watch list?

The point was, PP7 was a viable Heisman contender when he did it. Not to mention, PP7's was a huge play. LF's was a 4-yard TD.

I love LF and think he is going to be a great one, I just think it was poor timing.

I thought he had better character than this.

Flashing the Heisman pose says nothing about his character. The dude is still one of the most humble top HS players ever to hit college football.

He gave his prep POY award that HE received to the EJ QB last year.
