Ensminger should have been the choice for head coach

I have no Problem with coach slinger being the OC.
If we were daring enough to hand the keys to program to a position coach who has never been a coordinator and has a very questionable past, then why not hand them to a guy like ensminger?
Ensminger truly is "one of us" and is a lifelong tiger. He has actually been a coordinator at a big Sec school. Has deep connections with high school Coaches and has no personal baggage.

Not to mention he has never been a deplorable head coach before...who got fired for being said deplorable head coach.

I completely agree. Would have been proud to have him represent the school we all love as our HC and see how he did if the other option was Ed “Wild Boyz” Orgeron.
Unfortunately, Steve isn’t drinking buddies with the local talk radio hacks who could run a PR campaign for him to get the job.
He also isn’t a backstabbing schemer that would undermine the guy that hired him to steal his job. The guy that also happened to hire our current HC and DC.
Yeah, that guy had no idea what he was doing, but we’re going to promote and retain all of his hires to fix everything he messed up

I agree Ensminger would be a better choice of "executive" style head coach, particularly paired with a DC of Aranda's stature (then you could safely take a hotshot from a lower division or up and coming QB guru and Ensminger could help with a lot of technical aspects of the offensive side of the ball).
O needs experts on both sides of the ball because he's essentially a (arguably outstanding) recruiter, motivator and DL coach - he is not a coordinator or "expert" in any technical area of football outside of DL play.
