I keep hearing people say that Joe Brady was a "passing coordinator" for the Saints.

No he wasn't.

Do you Sean Peyton hires someone very little coaching experience as his passing coordinator? Really.

He was an "offensive assistant". Very low level.

Ensminger went and heard him give a presentation. This guy knows his shite.

They took a risk on hiring him. I don't think he ever called plays before.

And it worked!

Go Woodward, go!

How was O and E's offense without Brady? Even with the same talent?

Now how is the offense with Brady?

No credit is due.

Bullfrickingshit. The head coach doesn't deserve credit for assistants he hires?

will LSU ask Ensminger to let Brady take over as OC and E stays on as assistant or consultant?

O and E deserve credit for recognizing a deficiency and correcting it

Well, here is the deal as a high level manager. Servant leaders like O and E know one important rule of management. Hire the best, get out of their way and let them shine. All the accolades toward Brady does nothing but reflect well on E. I bet you a million dollars I do not have that Brady has learn more from E on how to be an OC that E learned from Brady about the passing game. That is the definition of a great leader in E.

Give good people the tools and space to be successful and it looks great on you. If they keep doing that, LSU is about to go on a very good long run of competing.

Good enough to win 10 games. People have short memories, go look at the UCF bowl game, they were mostly in shotgun running RPO concepts before Brady got there. E had already started to move from a pro style offense to a spread. They just brought in an expert to refine the system. Brady brought the levels concept from the Saints.

Brady has learn more from E on how to be an OC

The idea that Ensminger isn't teaching Brady the ropes on how to be any kind of coordinator is ridiculous.

So the man in charge of making hires gets no credit for hiring a good PGC?

BS. O deserves credit and E deserves credit for being open to help. If i hear correctly, E is the one that decided he needed help.

So they had the self awareness to say "we aren't enough right now. What can we do?" and they figured it out. their decisions led to this team being what it is.

Period.

That is another example of superior leadership. Self-aware enough to recognize a deficiency, even if it is in yourself, and address the issue.

This argument is hilarious. They work as a team and all look like they enjoy working together. They are both learning from each other and its translating really well on the field.

They are getting plenty of credit. Every game I’ve watched the announcers are sure to point all three of them out. Every article I read gives them all praise.

Anyone else starting to think E is an excellent play caller but just needed some help implementing newer passing concepts?

Also that he’s helping to teach Brady how to call plays in order to prep him for the fulltime roll either next year or 2021?

If they put together and participated in the coaching arrangement that produced the
results, they deserve plenty of credit.

Appears so.
It looked like Brady was calling everything Saturday.

Giving credit for the hire is separate from getting credit for what’s put on the field on offense. It sounds like you want to combine them

Looks like we found the last "fan" who still thinks Orgeron is a bad head coach and should never have gotten the job.

Ensminger realized last November that Joe needed to run a spread and stay in shotgun. He did what he could but knew he needed someone who was more of an expert with the read option & spread attack. Kudos to him for being self aware and for having an eye for Brady’s talent. As far as O he’s been praised by the national media a ton for this quick turn around.
