Enjoy this year for what it is

Every week this team will get better. The young guys are going to get more and more confident and experienced.
Perfect example is Elias ricks yesterday. On the play where he jumped the route and the ball went right over his head, that’s something that is gruesome in the moment, but he’ll learn from. When he jumps a route later this year or next year for a pick six, think back to yesterday.
Throughout this year we get to watch BJ Ojulari develop and start getting to the QB consistently.
Same with Boutte, Gilbert, Roy, Guillory, Koy, Flott, Ward, Toles, etc. Enjoy watching these guys get better. It’s a process.
These young guys are going to make mistakes this year, and honestly who gives a frick, we aren’t winning a NC.
But 2021 is going to be fun.

Yes because we have a VERY VERY young, talented team and they are all coming back next year.
Just watch the week by week improvement is all I’m saying

Uh. Yea. We set a fricking record losing players to draft and then add 3 opt outs by starters, two on defense. Not even the Almighty Bama has ever suffered the loss we had after a season. Goober.

If Myles doesn't improve, Johnson or Nuss will be the QB next year.

It was 1 game bro
He made some nice throws just needs to be quicker and prepare for situational football better (The latter is something he should be good on by now but whatever).
Give him until UF at least. Most QB’s struggle in their first start. Give him 4-5 games minimum. Not like we are playing for anything important this year.

For the first time that I can remember I was able to watch a game and not really feel emotionally involved. To me, I was always in the boat that the powers were going to screw everyone and cancel the season. So, I am just glad to be able to watch LSU.
We were fortunate enough to have one of the greatest teams and seasons in the history of CFB and there was zero chance we were going to put up a performance anywhere close to what we saw last year with that much attrition.
As was alluded to by anyone (ex players turned announcers etc) who knows anything about football this season was going to be dicey due to lack of spring ball.
No spring ball really hurt Brennan even if he has been here 4 years. It trickled down into not having great summer workouts bc no spring foundation. I am NOT saying Brennan is the answer and will get better and be amazing. He really looked hesitant and missed some easier open throws. I am more disappointed in the run game and the horrendous play calling at the goal line.
I suspect the D was not able to properly play zone due to no Stingley and Ward missing two weeks of camp.
Make no mistake, this year is gonna hurt as we will lose a bunch of games. I think the best way to assess our season and coaches is to see how they improve and adjust. I saw some really bright spots in Gilbert, Jenkins, Ricks and Ali Gaye. Stevens played well and our kicker remained solid. Stingley is a game changer and we will need him.
Mike Leach basically runs the simplest offense and it is easy to install. The beauty is in the execution and their QB flat out made great reads and throws. Tackling has been spotty by every team I’ve watched play their first game.
I am just grateful that last year’s team wasn’t the victim of the COVID season. If there was ever a year for us to have a shortened season it would be with this team given the attrition.

That’s what happens when you lose 18 starters

I don't know about you but I enjoy LSU football every year because it's LSU football.
Now if you need LSU football to achieve something so that you can feel good about yourself, good luck.

IF this team cannot get a good QB it will not matter. MB has so many missed chances. He is indecisive and/or cannot read a defense. Either is a deal breaker for a QB.

Agree completely with the op and OJersey.
This year will be measured by how the team improves.
Get better every week, and try to steal a game or two from the teams that every one will now have as heavy favorites against us. Give MB a chance to prove he is the guy, and most importantly give the recruiting class a reason to stay together.
Nobody ever was gutted as hard as this team was, and with Covid, it is just about the worst year that it could happen.
I trust O and the coaches. We will be back quickly.

Well, everyone can relax about ANY accomplishments for the team this year aside from hopefully gearing up for next year. LSU really caught some bad breaks unlike any other school.
