Could get interesting if Riley brings him over as assistant coach/recruiting coordinator. Clearly the guy loves USC almost as much as he loves LSU. Also looks like that would help set him up for a future in TV. This could happen yall

Why wouldn’t he be open to working at USC and assuming he would be working for LR? He already has decent recruiting contacts in SoCal.

Ed O was built for recruiting but the game has changed and he's a dinosaur. It's no longer about being a relentless recruiter and big likeable personality. None of that matters. It's an NIL numbers game. So I don't see what he brings to the table anymore.

They don't want him for recruiting contacts in SoCal. They have those .
They want him for his recruiting contacts HERE.

People conveniently forget that Ed spurned LSU after stringing Miles along in 2009 to go with his buddy Kiffin to Tennessee. Ed likes LSU. Ed loves Ed.

Probably still a solid defensive line coach at worst. And I don't think traditional recruiting has 0 benefit.

So the Frank Wilson hire and other hires with ties to Louisiana were pointless huh?

"Who Cares"

All the legions of Shrimpy Sycophants that are still obsessed and can't let go of their Cajun god.

Just look at all the O threads that are popping up on here.

He destroyed the program and Syco's are still worshipping him on here.

I'm surprised that on Super Bowl weekend, when so many LSU, Orgeron recruits/players, are the talk of the sports world, you guys are still in a negative mood.
Maybe we should wait until another Coach wins a National Championship before I completely trash Coach O.

rofl, he was anti-LSU most of his career until Alleva happened to be the only idiot willing to give Ed a head job. USC is his true dream school.

They're the "talk" despite O

He made LSU an embarrassment 8 months after that NC. Ashamed he didn't care enough about LSU to not do so.

It’s not that simple and it never will be. It’s no different than when the money was under the table. That’s how you CLOSE. The offer of a deal can help you get the commitment and the proof can get you the signature, but you still have to have the ace recruiters to build a relationship and get into a player’s top 3-5 early on.

If you can’t get into that position first, the bag of cash won’t mean shite because someone else higher on their list will be there to match it.
