They need a better font for the L on that hat and then I'm in.

ETA: Also why does our jersey have a zipper when the rest of them have buttons? I mean come on. So close.

It's based on an actual hat, so take it up with the coach from the 60's

Well, do you have a picture or can identify why its only "close"? It looks a lot like the hat McClendon wore in the late 60's,early 70's. Do you have a Jim Smith photo?

The pictures from the media guide of all americans from '65 and '67 have hats that look very close if not exactly like the recreation. There aren't any very up close shots to know for certain, and of course neither of the players I looked at were on the team '66. And the pictures aren't dated.

ETA: Subsequent pictures in the media guide of Jim Smith and Gene Achord show that hat exactly.
