Dumb way of thinking.

I have no doubts that they way the admin is handling the fire/hire situations at LSU are inefficient and questionable.
HOWEVER.
How is it possible that rumors and names are dropped on the rant, then passionately latched on to (RE: Jimbo, Herman, Kiffin, ECT), then when these passionate opinions don't come to fruition its somehow doomsday and everyone in the administration is incompetent, and everyone is embarrassed to be LSU fans, "done with this shite" or run to the SECrant to melt? (Again, see how I prefaced this topic- I think admin treatment of hire/fires is questionable at best).
Get a fricking grip people, there is more at play than tRant will ever know when it comes to these hires. Its not a systematic failure when the rants consensus #1 prospect has other plans. For fricks sake.

I think people might just be understanding the realities of the situation. LSU has a career DL coach and failed head coach running the show trying to find an offensive coordinator at the same time as Bama. You've got to understand people's apprehension, especially given that he couldn't even pull his "buddy".

This is the rant. Probably 80% of the people on here were too stupid to get into LSU.

No. It was widely reported that Kiffin was O's first choice, not the Rant's. This wasn't some wild speculation by anonymous Internet posters. Alleva hired O in part based on his supposed ability to woo these incredible assistants. Kiffin was part of that plan. Now he's gone elsewhere.

GOOD answer. The Rant consists of idiots that think they know the way to do things. I guess this makes me one of them but at least I don't think the sky is falling because of not getting a particular coach OR recruit. ALL schools recruit hundreds of athletes - they sign 25 or so. Look at the record of all programs versus their "rank" of recruiting. There are plenty of GOOD players out there. Les and Chavis didn't even offer 1/2 of the LB'ers out there from Louisiana through the years. How much difference is there between the number 1 ranked player and the number 20 in the whole nation. Not a lot with proper coaching I contest.

I think it is clear that LSU athletic department is being run by someone who thinks with a small mind and thinks mostly in terms of getting the best deals.
Kinda like my wife who thinks she saves money cause she never misses a sale. Or will drive across the state to save $20 when we are blessed to be able to afford more conveniences in life. I just shake my head like I am doing now with the AD, and hope she learns her lesson without expending pointless energy arguing.
On the other hand, if the athletic department thinks big and positions itself to be a top 5-10 program, you go out and make the best hire possible no matter what it takes short of being screwed like Les did to them with the phantom Arkansas offer.
Name one top 10 program that would hire CEO. I don't think people are melting over the rumors, but they are melting over the reality. It has been widely reported that LSU narrowed their massive coaching search down to Herman, Jimbo and CEO over the weekend following A&M/Thanksgiving, and announced CEO that following week. The word narrow fits perfectly for how the program is being managed. It's just narrow minded thinking guided by feelings/emotion rather than facts and a bigger picture.
Now that we have been stuck holding nothing but a binder and a team full of coaches that were here last year, and have lost or are seemingly shaky with several top recruits, the reality is not looking good.
LSU needs to make a HUGE hire for OC ASAP.

No it was wild speculation by Dellenger, the Advocate, etc. & everybody on the rant. "Unnamed sources" are a rumor, not fact; sad you can't tell the difference between rumor & fact. No official in the athletic dept or admin stated Kiffin's name or that he was our 1st choice.
Fact is none of us know what's going on behind closed doors, why can't you people just let it play out instead of latching onto rumors as fact?
And why do you hate O so much?
