Don’t set yourself up for a massive letdown

I feel that it’s only appropriate to take this wonderful day to ponder how much progress we’ve made as a team and staff under coach O this season. Preseason expectations were anthing but glamorous. Many said we would finish 5th in the West and 7-5 was the predicted outcome by most of the so called “experts”. Anyone who follows our recruiting close enough should’ve known that we weren’t gonna suck that bad! We are LSU! We breed 1st round draft picks and consensus All Americans year after year. However, I myself was in the 9-3 or 10-2 camp. I made bets with all my friends that we would finish the regular season with at least 9 wins. I believed in Burrow and knew we had too much talent to fall by the wayside.
BUT I have to admit I didn’t think we would beat Georgia by 20 and that Grant Delpit would be this good! It’s been a great ride this year! And college football is fun again in the Red Stick. It’s always fun for me but you guys know what I mean. When your team continues to steal the spotlight and inch it’s way into a playoff spot after starting the season ranked twenties it makes for a great year!! It sparks memories of the good old days and the good old days are here again my friends!
Now consider Alabama: this is the strongest offense I have ever seen assembled at Alabama and we all know it’s mostly because of the ultra talented Tua Tagovailoa. Aside from him they have what they always have: a strong Oline, good running backs, and a strong defense. Heck they always have everything and their speed at receiver is certainly a problem this year. Tua can flick his wrist 3 times and score 21 points. It would take 3 sensational drives for LSU to put up 21 against the tide. Like it or not we just aren’t as good as the red team.
Enter Saturday night in Death Valley and the biggest stage in college football. A raucous crowd and a big play early could spark a war that Bama most likely won’t find anywhere all year. The crowd could actually be the difference in the end. #1 Alabama against #4 LSU (I’ve seen playoff polls suggest we’ll be #2) on a Saturday night in Death Valley is exactly what college football should be. Let’s face it the whole sport is better when we are nationally relevant. And we are right now!
This could be the best college football game all season- including the national championship game. It is for this reason that many love purple, live gold die hards shouldn’t consider it a failure if we lose this game. We’ve made great strides this season Tiger fans, and I really feel the best is yet to come under coach O. Savor the moments, enjoy the ride, and make it the best Saturday of the season! We are back in the national spotlight where we belong and still have a lot of muscle to flex. Even without a win next weekend, we’re still well on our way! “we comin! .. we comin! and we ain’t backing down!!

Ya wrong here buddy.....
Their defense is still good, but it's not near as "strong" this year

There's no delusions about how good Bama is. But losing to them will always be a let down.
They are not invincible. I hope we win.

Believing LSU beats Bama won’t be this biggest letdown, trust me I just got a job in Baton Rouge

You could've just written out "I have no chest" and saved yourself a lot of time

We’re having fun. Let it go and enjoy the ride.

I think he is saying we can’t lose.

I like the positive attitude, but I don't like the negative message. This is football, I've seen many talented teams lose to less talented teams. Everyone with a brain knows who is favored here, but anyone delusional enough to think it's going to be a blowout win for Alabama is a fool. It comes down to who wants to fight more for it.

Losing doesn’t make the season all for naught, but it’s still a letdown. Especially vs bama.

It's just the way of the world like water from the bathroom tap tasting better, baby poop smelling worse than anything, or Les Miles using the word "quality" in every presser.
It just is. And nothing can stop it.
Why? Because the opposite is glorious.

I guess... the Bama teams of the mid 70s after Bear adopted the wishbone were as good offenses as you will ever see. Those offenses were before the scholarship limits we have now. So I tire of best offense ever stuff not that it matters. The Bama offense is better then LSUs offense. We have to deal with what is. Might be the best Saban offense. We do not know because they have played a very weak schedule. Georgia took Bama to overtime last year and we beat them by 20. Auburn beat Bama last year handily and we have beaten That Auburn team twice. Yep Tua is better than Hurts. Tua is probably the best QB in college. Burrow is no slouch. A much weaker LSU team outgained Bama in Tuscaloosa last year. But for three or four Etling overthrows we could have scored at least a couple of more times in T town. So I think a 14 point line as a home under dog is pretty rich. Not having White(maybe the best defensive player in college) really hurts. Still have no idea what the outcome will be. Much weaker LSU teams have taken LSU to the last possession with Bama in Baton Rouge in 2012 and 2014. Other than the Chavis prevent victory defense and kickoff going out of bounds...we win.. A couple of no,call holding calls and a toe being out of bounds cost us the 2016 game in BTR Still have to play an almost perfect game to win.
