All these trick plays would not work if we had Janokowsi running them? We have had Jackson, David, now Jasper all these white dudes got some scoot if you know what I mean. Any thoughts?

How fast is the one arm guy, and can he catch a flip-pass?

I'm thinking the same thing...if there are any athletic kickers in highschool, LSU is a great place to go...only thing is, the teams we play are just about going to play it safe for every kick we do...its happening so often that its just worth the risk trying to block the kick anymore against us...LOL

The JUCO punter we have commited right now, Dalton Botts, plays QB for his team. He may not end up being part of this class because of numbers but he is the type of athelete Les wants at punter. Here is a quote from an article written when he commited:

quote:

Although he’ll be heading for Baton Rouge as Helton’s replacement, Miles is already designing a few special plays to take advantage of Botts’ running and passing abilities.
“He has something planned for me. They are very big on special teams. They want a punter who can handle the ball, run and throw. They’re planning to develop some trick plays around me.”
It was, in fact, his ability to kick the ball that turned his fortunes around.

Good idea!! But they should not get one of those soccer pansies, who flop on the ground and writhe with pain when anyone even touches them.

Dude -- Josh Jasper was a soccer player... ahh, he seems to have made the switch to football ok don't you think?

Trust Les to recruit good players - he's done that exceptionally well I'd say.

I really think our last two fakes were Jasper audibles. He knows what to look for.

I would venture to guess that a lot of kickers have a soccer background. That's one hell of a conditioning sport.

I just hope the kickers don't killed if they get caught though. I'm not sure of Jasper's size but he looks slightly smaller than the defense that was chasing him down. Hats off to him though, he cut back into the defense on the fake. One tough hombre

I've known Seth (the "one arm guy") for most of his life. He's a former soccer player, but not a pansy at all-very tough kid, played all sports even with only one arm, very fast, and fearless. On a bad pitch he may have a problem getting a handle on the ball, but once he gets it, he'll be Jasper junior. Oh, kicked off out of the end zone on a regular basis in high school.
