Before Curry ? Listening to AFR the other day , I think it was Jordy who said he thinks Lanard is third on the depth chart at rb

I'm not going to sit here and pretend to have any insider info. But my guess would be he'll maybe get some special teams run.

What experience, exactly?

meant because he is not a true freshman... He has to feel the most comfortable along with NB with the playbook, etc

I don’t think experience has anything to do with it. Brand new offense

I would expect some...

plays/reps for sure; some of that will be on pass plays.

So he'll have carries, but less than reps.

I'd guess 6-9 reps, 3-6 att.

You mean the playbook which is brand new to the whole team?

wont the play book be pretty similar to Cams? just that we open it up a lot more and use more of shotgun 3-4 wideouts with passing more on early downs and running more out of the shotgun with more passing to open up the running game like when Ensminger had Cams playbook before.

Lanard has had more experience on the college level (just not in games) and is older and may be more physically ready (along with mentally) than the two freshman.

i also thought Lanard had some decent runs in the spring game but I could be thinking of someone else

Somewhere between 2-5 touches if this is going to be a true RBBC.

I think he and Curry will both see a few.

ETA: I'd love to see LSU use Curry late in games as a closer of sorts. Let the defense deal with his fresh legs after 3+ quarters of play.

Lanard has shown pretty good ability to spot the hole and ability to make cuts into the hole. I think he will contribute.

I just don't see this unless he beats out Brossette.

CEH/Curry/Brossette has to be our 3 head group. Lanard will probably get special teams action.

I think a couple weeks in CEH and Curry will be 1 & 2.... Nick is a great kid but until he proves he can run the ball and not fumble im not leaning on him

Freshmen historically are more prone to fumbling as they aren't as used to getting hit repeatedly by SEC defenses.

Just a thought.

If he's got a fumbling issue he won't be getting carries at all. He's by far the most physical back on the roster and I love watching guys like that run through tackles late in games.
