He's not getting his entire buyout. He left on his "own accord", a mutual parting of ways. He negotiated a smaller buyout so both sides could save face. We just don't know what that number us yet.

Why would he negotiate for less. Saving face is bad business. He did nothing wrong outside of an underperforming defense. A defense based on 4-3 with 3-4 players and no spring or soft schedule to sort it out. He's getting bad advice if pride is a factor.

TD news states Bo had a 2.3 mil/yr contract and LSU will pay a 5.2 mil buyout. Considering he finished the first year, that would leave 4.6 mil remaining....so, what’s the extra 600k for? Is the calculation correct, or should Larry Leo return to focusing all his attention sniffing Paige Spirinac’s panties?
He still has 2 years, 4 months left on his contract.

Great, and even average coaches adapt their calls to their personnel.

No one had a spring, yet LSU was the only 2019 CFB contender to completely collapse.

What do you call Mississippi State, Mizzou, and Vanderbilt?

He was hired to do the exact opposite. So yes, it’s good he agreed to save face.

I don’t hate the guy but to say the defense under his leadership this season was bad would be flattering.

His agreeing to save face and part ways is indicative of that.

He agreed to take a lump sum instead of recurring payments. Just like the lottery, the lump sum will always be less than the recurring payment.
