After Troy he blamed Canada so Canada told people he wasn’t being allowed to run his offense. When Alleva heard this he called a meeting on that Thursday to talk to O about it and O went nuclear. Later Aranda arranged two meeting between O and Canada to squash the beef and get back on track, one during the season, one right before O announced Canada would not be retained. The first meeting devolved into a screaming match the second O never said a word and just ignored Aranda and Canada.

Aranda knew Canada from Wisky, Aranda moved into Canada’s house when Canada left so he tried to play peacemaker and O shite on the idea and effort. We nearly lost Aranda too during the whole internal fight.

But it did work in the SEC and now Canada is a NFL offensive coordinator. The main jet sweep guy was Russell Gage averaged 8 yards per carry (should gave used more jet sweeps) and LSU scored aboved 30 points in 6 games that season with a 0.6 turnovers on offense per game. I think it would have been more potent offense if Coach O let Canada run things like he promised when Canada was hired.

he is too dumb to know many other teams incorporate jet sweeps. he obviously never watched CUM at UF or malzahn at auburn. they used horizontal stretch run plays like jet sweeps also that killed defenses, then once spread out they gashed them north south. you can always tell who knows football and who knows what they are watching. NFl teams use it also especially coach andy reid.

I’m no O fan and I liked the Canada hire.
That being said, there is a lot of history being re-written in this thread. Canada was coming up short. After the Troy loss, the shite hit the fan. Then, the jet sweep almost disappeared entirely. The O line did not have the depth to do what Canada wanted to do. Hanging points on Chattanooga didn’t get me too excited.
After he streamlined the offense, LSU was much more productive. At the game at Alabama, one of their fans commented on how LSU really was the better team.
Lastly, Canada and Aranda supposedly had some issues as well (as did their wives).
The irony is, Canada and Aranda are doing well now, and O is on the hot seat (deservedly so) Orgeron has done enough dumb shite and made enough poor hires to be fired.
Canada has nothing to do with that.

If you’re doing it right, there is no wasted motion. You’re QB should learn something with every movement.
Also, you see jet sweeps everywhere now. NFL teams called him to consult after we canned him.
