Does anybody believe those lateral sideline passes actually worked in practice?

Against OUR defense? What was the thinking? Yeah, they don't work against us but they'll be killer against Alabama?
I asked these questions earlier about the passing game... didn't get a response, so maybe they're just boring questions... BUT...
- Didn't Studrawa say before the season started that the new philosophy would be to stretch the defense by throwing it deep? So, what the hell happened? Alabama was stretched, all right... from sideline to sideline daring us to run, which we did. We've got a tall receiver, one of the best in the nation, who's already proven he can make one on one plays deep. So, Coach Stud, what happened to the philosophy?
- At the beginning of the season we were wondering why they had Jarrett Lee rolling out removing half his field of vision. Despite that, those passes seemed to be good for 10-15 yards consistently. Now, when it made much more sense for JJ to roll out and throw behind the linebackers guarding against the option... WHERE WAS IT?

They are pretty effective IF you make the first guy miss.

I'm sure a few deep passes were called, but JJ either checked out of them at the line or dropped back, didn't see what he wanted to see for his first read, then tucked it and ran for a yard.
Coaches can only do so much. Players have to go out and execute.

The first play of the game I think was a play you're talking about. It went for a solid 7 yards. Those plays aren't bad.

The R.B.E.W.P. The Reggie Bush east west philosophy?

I am trying to figure out how Bama could figure out that the tight ends were key to moving the ball in this game but LSU had no clue or plan. Peterson and Clement are very talented but had little part of the game plan. They could have been used in a two TE formation and used to chip block the ends and wadi in to a pass route. This would have made Upshaw or Hightower cover or leave a receiver open over the middle. The Saints have been making a living off of this...

this is why people are upset at not trying Lee. We needed to go vertical and Lee was our best option to do that.
Running wasn't working so we needed to pass. Why didn't we use our passing QB?

Our game plan sucked. We have so many weapons but Miles could not put together a plan to use them. It was simply embarrassing to watch. We would have been much better off if JJ never came back to the team. I think JL and ZM would have given us a much better chance to beat BAMA.

fwiw, and this may get deleted but someone posted that their cousin on the team (can I say the name) texted him that they didn't run a single play that they had practiced during the break.
thread got whacked earlier this afternoon ... this one might too.

JJ happens.
We stretched the ball quite a bit with Lee, moreso than we have in years or at least it seemed that way.

I hate that play by the offense. Total waste of a down.

Our offense was much better with JL.
