Reading the SECrant about top SECwest coaches has gotten me fired up. People saying that we have seriously underachieved bothers me because in some ways it's true and in others it is not.

Why it is False: LSU is 24-4 over the last two years. Not many teams can say that. LSU has also beaten more top 10 teams over the last two years. Bama, Oregon, USCe, and UGA are great examples.

Why it is True: LSU's offense in the championship called plays that a pee wee team coach won't call. Constantly trying to run through a break wall and never throwing the ball deep. The offensive debacle in the Chicken Bowl. Add to that the poor calls in the 2012 Bama game. There wasn't any reason for us to lose that game. (Our poor offensive play last year might have lead to us getting the best OC that we could ever get.)

Fact: There are 12 teams in the SEC that wish they could "underachieve" at Miles' level.

Fact: There are about 120 teams in the country that wish they could "underachieve" at Miles' level.

I think before this past season, LSU had the best winning percentage of ANY team in the last 5 years...........so no.

Also, we've had one of the top 5 toughest schedules since 2007/2008 season. I'm proud of our team

Nah. Everything fine. Losing chances at back to back titles and givin it away to Bama is normal. Also, playin at a level to lose to a Clemson is normal too.

LSU has underachieved. However the bar was so high and the result was still solid so I would not characterize the performance as "seriously" in terms of underachievement.

No. Lsu has overachieved imo, went 4 years without a competent qb.

Dont let the secr get to you, those are usually other teams fans who have had nowhere near the success that LSU has enjoyed for the last decade. They will all troll until the day LSU beats them this year.

I agree about the coaching part, but disagree about the qbs.

Yet our QBs come in with a ton of potential and never live up to it. When this happens to all of the recruits at a position, this falls on coaching. Extremely unlikely that all of the players are incompetent.

The QB's were never coached up previously. Just put out there to play. Lee in San Diego is just now getting proper instruction on how to be a QB. And Jefferson is still lost. Even with Flynn and Russell it was there talent that got them over the hump. But with Cameron now that should be changing.

Let's bring up 14-15 years ago, sounds like a fair comparison.

Has LSU football accomplished each of its goals every year? No. So that way the program may have underachieved. Has the team usually met or exceeded preseason expectations? I'd say so.

This program plays the toughest schedules year in and year out. It is bound to have some less that spectacular performances. Other than the last title game, can anyone remember the last time LSU was blown out?

I don't think the team has underachieved, but I do believe that it has been let down in recent years by it stars and team leaders. JJ in 2011, TM7 last year, and Hill this year have let the program down with their lack of dedication and discipline. Missing these types of players would devastate most program. The fact that these losses only cause LSU to "underachieve" tells me all that I need to know.

If anyone thinks Miles is on par with Saban and we are equal talent wise with BAMA, then yes the program has underachieved because they are finding ways to win BCS titles and we are not.
