will sit back coast with minimal playing time this year because he is surely a top 10 pick in the NFL draft as Stingley did after his injury ? Do you think Boutte goes all out and plays as much as possible... I think he plays as much as possible. We have a deep receiving group, but to have a great year we need him on the field. Curious…Where do you see he’s a top 10 lock?

He needs to play if he wants his stock to go up or stick depending on which mock draft you’re reading.

His situation is far different from Chase’s. He’s going to play.

He is only a too 10 pick if he comes out and dominates. It is not given!

He is a lock to be a top 3 WR picked in the draft, which probably keeps him in the top 10-15. I think he'd rather be the top WR taken & top 5 pick, so I expect him to have a big year.

Dude just came off a major injury. He doesn't have enough film to justify a top 10 pick or possibly even 1st coming off a gruesome injury. He needs to play his arse off to solidify what his early film showed. He was great on the backend of freshman year, then looked great last year but didn't even play half a season? No, he needs to play hard to solidify his position in the draft. If he thinks he can coast around and be lazy it will damage him more than help. He'd be better out sitting the season so I'm going with he'll play his arse off. He was the only one who gave a shite in the Ole Miss game and it paid him off with a bad injury. Don't think anyone can question his drive.

Boutte wants Nuss to start so he and the other wide receivers can have a really good season. As 2022 is his money season and he needs to raise his draft stock as high as possible.

He needs more playing time to secure that mega draft rookie contract. The problem is if he does that that by week 10-12, and then we're not playing in the playoffs and at THAT point he makes a business decision.

The answer is yes and it is not just Boutte. I have tried and tried to explain to some of the simpletons on here that college football as we knew it (as recently as 2019) is gone forever.
Players will play only long enough to establish draft status and then they are done. I am not sure he is a top 10 pick but if that is what he is being told, look for a non-career threatening "injury" to pop up early and wave goodbye to him.
Just the way it is now.
