I’ll put it this way: I’d MUCH rather if he didn’t make our next football coach hire, but I’m sure as hell not mad about him not dishing out $75,000,000 for Jimbo Fisher. I think he’s a pretty average hiring and operations guy but I don’t think he has the sack to take control when he needs to or make the right decision when faced with a lot of options and it seems like he gets rattled then does dumb knee jerk shite I.E. Aramark, Herman/Orgeron debacle, hiring Jones, Duke lax scandal, etc.

That being said and to give you a short answer, no, I don’t blame anyone from top to bottom for passing on the absolutely ridiculous butt-frick-of-a-deal that A&M just gave a guy who’s coming off of a 5-6 season. But I do blame him for his below average performance and terrible job of dealing with the media throughout his tenure here.

He was locked in at 2.3 million over 7 years in 2003 (unfathomably high at the time) and he was making $10MM per year at Bama within 4 years this “ackchually by definition, any price that the market offers is fair market value” bullshite needs to stop. A business can OBJECTIVELY overpay. It’s why businesses go out of business after making shitty deals. But instead of going out of business, A&M is just going to be screwed going forward.
