While CEO being terminated in 2017 is unlikely, would we trust Alleva to hire another coach?

Should LSU fire Alleva in 2017 & allow a new AD to hire a new coach after the 2018 season ( assuming we tank again).

Should LSU fire Orgeron in 2017 & allow Alleva to hire a new coach?

I don't think there is enough time to fire Alleva & hire a competent AD before the end of 2017.

It will be removed from his hands either by him not having a job here, or by the LSU BOS taking control of the hire

That's somewhat a scary thought. I foresee politics coming into play

not when you realize they did it in 2000 with the Saban hire.

romor is Emmert and the BOS stepped in and made the call to hire Saban, not Skip

This is supposed to be comforting? These are the same people that approved the Orgeron buyout and stand behind F. King.

I believe that was Emmert who stepped in. I have no confidence in FKA

Hell No! That being said, we won’t be hiring another football coach in 2017. And if O doesn’t turn it around, Alleva won’t be around for long.

Skip was still coaching baseball when Saban was hired, so I'm not surprised that he was not the final say in who to hire as football coach....

Yes. We have traveled back in time to the 80's and 90's when politics played a HUGE role in who the next football coach would be and it seemed like there was always a power struggle between the BOS and the AD to see who's penis was larger every time we had to hire a coach. LSU had to hire a football coach after the 1983, 1986, 1990, and 1994 seasons. This always seemed to be an issue.

Edit to add: I think Emmert pretty much handled the Saban deal....and it was all Skip when it came to hiring Miles. Can we safely say those two made better hires than what were made in the 80's and 90's?

Alleva will be screwing up someone else's athletic department by that time.

The simple answer is no. I'll give Aleva credit for the basketball coach, if he turns out a good hire.

I think this is Alleva's last "job". When his days are over here, he will fade away into the sunset.

What kind of nonsensical question is that? Nobody trusts that pile.....
