Should have included losing a 30 point lead and losing.

I’m disappointing the name to court after him. Shaq Absolutely. At least Shaq had the court installed. Think of the marketing with his name on the court.

Two tries and you failed twice.

Talk and type for 75+. Phone doesn’t like “Shaq”.

It is what it is
The court should have been named after someone that possibly brings a natty at some point
Maybe a statue would have been more appropriate outside of PMAC
They put in a place that you can't even really see it on TV

DB name will be on the floor between scorers table and the Tiger at center court starting next season. It’s a process to do it and keep the footing safe and it’s not practical during the season

I'm not a fan of naming the court after any coach.

That said, if any one person at LSU would deserve it, it is Brown. For roughly 60 years LSU basketball consisted of Bob Petit, Pete Maravich, and a lot of disinterest in between. Brown came in and promoted the hell out of the program throughout the state. For over a decade made the Assembly Center a tremendous environment. If you made a highlight tape of all the great moments in LSU basketball, probably 75% would come from the Brown era. The only reason there are disappointing moments as well is because Brown made LSU fans CARE about basketball. You can't be disappointed if you don't really give a shite to begin with...which is what most people felt towards LSU basketball prior to the late 70's.

The fans who hate it either (a) weren't around in the 80's to see LSU basketball at its peak; and/or (b) are just petty losers who think there is some massive rift between Wade and Brown.

I was at that game. I was 13 years old.

I remember looking up and seeing 68-37 on the scoreboard and thinking how glorious it looked.

I should have gotten therapy for the trauma I’d go through in the next 30 or so minutes of my life.

The court-jester-Brown deserves no place of honor in LSU Basketball history!!

He brought dirt to our basketball court and he and his enablers still bring problems to LSU Basketball, with Dick Vitale’s media bullhorn. Brown should not have his name on our university’s court!!!

Get the frick out of here man. He made LSU hoops relevant when it wasn't.

he’s also a hypocrite that got LSU nailed by the ncaa. He is a good recruiter that choked away titles with superior talent bc he wasn’t a good coach Definitely not someone you name a court after

I love that people remember the 30 point loss but forget the OT win he had against #1 Kentucky, playing the OT with 4 freshman and 1 senior off the bench.

Look at the last 5 years of his career at LSU; his teams were pathetic. He left the program in shambles.

Sure, he had it going for a while, but I'll never forget what Bobby Knight said during the NCAA tournament, “I was worried about losing until I looked down the floor and saw Dale Brown. Then I knew we had a chance.”

Besides the dirt bag trying to steal the thunder, I enjoyed it. Coach Brown's speech was right on point. This is well deserved.
