I have always gone to LSU from 1-10 West, which I can drive with my eyes closed. However, Saturday we are meeting friends with an RV (coming in from Slidell) at the Albertson's on College. I mapquested for the best directions it they were totally bassackwards. Looking at a map I am thinking stay on College and either turn on Nicholson or continue down to River Road to get to the Vetmed lot. Would appreciate the easiest directions (i.e. RV, traffic, etc.) to the Vetmed lot from College drive. Appreciate the help.

GPS. About $100. Small price to pay to know where you are and where you are going.

The least confusing following main roads will be to take college which will turn into Lee. You will eventually hit highland where you will turn right(I believe) and that will take you into campus.

Also, you could cross over highland to hit nicholson which will put you by the stadium.

Thanks for the help everyone. On a map I see that Lee becomes Brightside and dead ends on River Road. Would it be better to turn on Nicholson or keep going to River Road? Again the issue is more ease then speed. Getting lost in a car is one thing but an RV is a whole different story!

Nicholson runs right by Tiger Stadium
So you take College which becomes Lee which becomes Brightside to Nicholson. You take a right onto Nicholson (I'm pretty sure, there's a light and likely there's also a sign telling you it's the next signal on the right side of the road). You take Nicholson all the way straight to campus.

ETA: Hope all's well in Crow-town these days (I'm originally from Acadia Parish). And have a safe trip.

Well Nicholson will take you by the RV lor(I think you have to have a pass though and will probably be full already, though) and it's bigger than River Road. Are you sure you're allowed to park in the Vetmed lot?

Thinking about it, if you can park there then it would be smart to take river road because if you take nicholson you will end up having to take a left by old Alex Box onto stadium drive which would be hard because it's crowded with people. Taking river road, you would be able to take nothing but rights and would be on stadium for only a second.

We have an RV pass for the Vetmed lot. Don't know if the map is wrong but it shows College - Lee - Brightside going all the way to River Road. I know Nicolson drive was just trying to determine the easiest (fewer turns) to get to the lot. Just wondering how hard it will be to take a left off of Nicholson onto Skip Bertman drive.
Thought it might be eaiser to go to River Road and turn left and come up behind the lot rather then down Nicholson and fighting traffic trying to make a left turn.

Not much going on in Crow-town - where are you from? The biggest excitement around here is the serial killer in Jennings. Thanks for the well wishes.

btw, so you don't get confused Lee does not become brightside until you pass nicholson.

That was along the lines I was thinking. I just wanted to make sure this map was correct - it came from mapquest and the directions it gave me were totally screwy. I mainly wanted to verify that just staying straight from College would eventually take me to River Road.

Thanks for the help everyone - have a great game day

Used to do serious partying in Mermentau! High school friend had a camp on the river - lots of drunk ski parties!

No one asked... WHAT TIME?

If you are early enough (say, before 3:00 pm) it's easiest to take Nicholson. Otherwise, to avoid the most traffic, take River Road.

take the highland exit. stay on highland until burbank. turn left on burnbank and it will bring to Nicholson right in front of the new alex box.
