Direct TV NOW users...ESPN 3 access

If you are using a fire stick or roku or similar device to get your Directv Now feed and use the ESPN app thru that direct TV Now account and can no longer get ESPN 3 programming, you will need to log out of the ESPN app thru your direct tv Now account and sign in thru a personal ESPN account (may have to create one if you don’t have one - easy to do).
Then log on your ESPN app on firestik / roku with that personal account and the ESPN 3 programming should be viewable
Direct TVNow doesn’t support ESPN 3 any longer
Note there is a diff between Regular DirectTV (satellite) and DirectTVNow (streaming service).
Edit: some are saying it seems to only be an issue with Firestick, and if using Roku, espn3 still works with the directvNow login ...IDK. I use firestick and I had to do what I describe above to get ESPN 3 access

Or if you have an AppleTV you can stream it through the ESPN app on there.

You have DTVNow or regular DTV? Also do you use firestick or something else? Seems to only be an issue for directTVNow subscribers using a firestick for access

Your information is wrong. If you sign out and resign in with your direct TV account, you can watch it.

It’s not just fire stick. DTVNOW dropped ESPN3. WatchESPN glitches and occasionally still allows access. Your ISP May allow access as well, so don’t sign in with DTVNOW.
I can no longer watch NBA Finals since DTVNOW does not carry ABC or support ESPN3. It’s a POS.

Elvis...there is a diff between DirectTV and DirectTVNow subscriptions. There is not a problem with DirectTV service access to ESPN 3, but there is with DirectTVNow.
I tried a log off and log back in with my DTVNow account and no dice. Logged in the ESPN app with my personal ESPN account and it works fine. Just passing along for others that may be in the same boat

I have Apple TV and use my phone as well. It would not let me steam. I could watch games on the app that were being broadcasted on the regular net works. I’m sure it’s something with what Direct tV pays espn for service.

Mine worked just fine using my Roku yesterday logged into my DirecTVNow now account.
I have one of the original DirecTVNow plans and elected to keep that plan when they recently made changes and removed several channels. I wonder if this is maybe the source of the various discrepancies with some DirecTVNow accounts working with ESPN3 and some not.

It doesn’t change the fact that I was logged in using my DirecTVNow account yesterday watching the game on ESPN3 on my Roku via the ESPN app. So it granted me access for some reason despite what that article says. I still believe it’s due to the fact that I have retained my original DirecTVNow package that no longer is offered. But I am guessing.

It says it glitches and allows access occasionally but it’s not supposed to but hey...take advantage of it while you can I guess!

I guess I have gotten awfully glitchy lucky. I have never been denied access to any game.
