For starters, The 09 team had a little more talent. The 09 team also had bigger balls. This team, led by Kramer (who I love and respect. Had a great year), but they got caught up in the attention it seemed to me. They didnt seem focused at certain points this postseason. (Mainly talking about the older guys. Junior/seniors)

The 09 team wasnt playing any games. They were focused and not acting like sodtball players in their dogout.

Look at 2 of our badasses from 09 in this picture (Micah and Sean). I know they are older, but they were part of the fear from that 09 team that this team lacked. Deichman seemed like the only intimidator, maybe Lange and Hess too.

That's fricking easy...overall talent. That team was seriously stacked, this team has talent, but not that kind of talent. That 2009 team woukd have whipped this year's teams arse. It's no comparison in my mind.

Exactly. That 2009 team was special. Kramer robertson would not have been a team leader on that team I promise you that.

That 09 team was loaded. Before playing Texas they just blew by everyone else.

Black players?

No Buzzy Haydel was also a huge missing piece.

Our frickin outfield was blake dean, Mikey mahtook, and jared mitchell, leon landry...(don't forget chad jones too, but he was a pitcher usually) Lol. Then we had ryan schimpf, dj lamehieu, austin nola, and tyler Hanover on the infield, Shawn ochinko catching with micah Gibbs too. Our pitching staff was flat out sick too. Much better all around team, from fielding, to hitting, and pitching. Just absolutely frickin stacked. The only players on this year's team that would even play on that team are prob deichmann (dh) and papierski (at catcher, if he played like hes played in the postseason). That's really about it. Lange would have been a weekend starter, but not our ace, anthony Ranaudo had that. Louis coleman would have beat out poche for 2nd starter and he would have been a reliever on the 2009 team and a mid week starter. Hunter nEwan couldn't hold marty otts jock, hess and matty ott would be a close one, hess would play for sure. Overall, the 2009 team just had way more talent than this year's team. Period.

He started games that season. Helenihi was at 3rd for most of the postseason. Dont forget Grant Dozar

Go back and look up the 09 lineups in the CWS. It's s fricking joke how much talent that team had.

Oh Lord, our 2009 team would have demolished this year's team. Its not even close. Kramer and cole could forget playing. Like I said, therea only a couple players that would even have seen playing time on that team from this year's squad. That's just the truth.

This team acted as if they won the tournament when they beat Oregon. Lack of leadership to keep them focused.

no they didn't . LSU needed a double in the bottom of the ninth with 2 outs in game one to score two runs to tie the game. Then they had to win in extra innings. LSU lost in game 2 and won convincingly in game 3. It was an incredibly close series between two very good teams.

Wait are people actually comparing this team to 2009's team?

Damn the rant is fricking stupid.

Kramer and Cole would have been pinch runners, that's it. I can't believe LSU stayed in the cws as long as they did when the top of our lineup almost never got on base.
