Wade teaches free throws. Think of all the games JJ lost by a handful of points, and realize that Wade has always had his squads shoot much better than Jones' ever did.

The recipe for winning in basketball is really simple. Rebounding and free throws. Wade's practices focus on the last 6 minutes of a game. Ball control and free throws are essential for success, especially during this time. Excellent coaching wins close ball games. Period. Every team should play like the personality of their coach. There is a reason why JJ's teams were always inconsistent. Emotion and passion contained and guided in the right direction will lead young men to desire winning. TEAM-Together Everyone Accomplishes More! Will Wade will eventually become one of the greatest coaches we have had a chance to watch and LSU will win a Championship. I'm glad that it will be our Tigers.

Wade switching to 1-3-1 from man defense slowed TX down and confused them at the end of the game. Allowed Tigers to pull out the win. If they would just eliminate the stupid turnovers they could win more comfortably. I mean the one's that aren't forced. They will come back to bite them in the long run unfortunately if it is not corrected..

Jones was no where near Wade in terms of getting the most out of our players. I do think he probably has an edge on Wade with recruiting a little, which would have come into play a lot more if we had been winning. I am curious as to Wade’s true feelings with our program at the moment. Is he now truly looking to build LSU into a powerhouse considering we went to bat for him?......going as far as moving the AD on his way. Or will he bolt for a blue blood if they ever come calling?

It's a difference, not THE difference. And if you want a concrete example of why one is winning, and one didn't is free throws. If Wade's teams shot in the 65% range like JJ's did, all of these close games would be L's. And there is no reason to catch a fricking attitude with me this early in the morning over how I worded my fricking post.

We actually have a coach that knows how to run an offense. For the first time in a long, long time!

What you are saying is true. Sure he’s better all around but the place where we are so significantly better is free throws.

With jones We had Anthony hickey shooting literally 50% from the line. How are you going to close out games like that?

OTOH we have both javonte smart and skyler mays >80%, emmit Williams at 80%. If there’s a lead going into the last couple minutes it becomes very very difficult for the other team to close it because they have to be taking threes.

Because Coach O has proven that he is the real winner at LSU so they need to pump up Wade by s******* all over Coach Jones.

I think a lot of the resentment about Jones is he never deserved the job to begin with. He was hired bc of political pressure and a weak AD. Nobody else would have given that goon a power 5 head coaching job bc he hadn’t earned one.

He proceeded to turn our program into one of the worst in division 1.

We got to the point of pulling people from the band to play bc they were “big” for goodness sake.

He would have been fired a year before he was but Alleva let him flounder as an FU to all those who forced his hire.

Coach Wade is an excellent Coach and has brought our program back to life. Year 2: SEC Champs

That’s pretty incredible.

While Coach Wade continues to win at LSU, Jones is at Texas southern being irrelevant just like he was before being gifted the LSU job.

Coach Wade has brought us back to a championship standard.

Thank you Coach Wade!!

Jones was an average recruiter

He pulled a few solid guys and then had no clue how to develop them or coach them during a game

Practices were basically a bad PE class. Roll the basketballs out and let’s shoot

Coach Wade is a championship coach who has not only turned around a horrible roster but he’s remade the entire culture around the program in just 2 full seasons

Look ching chong (johnny). I loved the Wade hire from the beginning, and HATED the Orgeron hire AT the beginning. I have never been happier to be so wrong about an LSU fb coach because I LOVE LSU.

This isn't a competition between Wade and O. O has proven he can win it all, while Wade has yet to, but sure as hell looks like he's on the way. I support and wish CONTINUED success to both coaches. What is so hard to understand??

Not a JJ fan of his time as Head BB coach. But he inherited a dumpster fire from Coach Johnson. JJ did do well to get the roster where it was when we had Ben Simmons, but thats where his coaching skills were just not up to par. He did bleed purple and gold, I wish he were a better coach.

Johnny used to join the crowd ‘D Fence’ chants. Notorious for not calling timeouts, drawing up plays or even adjusting.

We’ll never get to find out how far last year’s team would have gotten if Alleva and F’king hadn’t sabotaged the season.

I’m so glad those two dipshits are gone.

Hard to recruit when the AD and university president are trying to fire you because some dishonest fricksticks in the media are slandering/libeling you at the behest of a rival coach you beat out for a 5 star recruit.

Wade’s recruiting class following his first season as coach he brought in three 5 star players (Naz, Emmitt and Javonte).

He’s got a 5 star and a 4 star committed this cycle.

Given the sample size and the extenuating circumstances, I’d say Wade has been an excellent recruiter. That’s not to say Jones wasn’t, but what Wade has done given the state of the program he inherited coupled with him having to deal with sabotage, he’s done extremely well in that area.
