SEC shorts. LSU gets rid of coach O's hot seat

I thought the FSU guy part was funny.

Who would've guessed that his seat would've been hotter than coach O's?

Until we fail to get 700 yards and a shutout against La Tech next week.

Uh Oh, O’s dream job opening up means Alleva better extend his contract.

I think I was in the minority, but I thought it was ridiculous that he was considered on the hot seat to begin the year anyways.

No. We're 3 games in. And as I've said before, most SEC Coaches will forever have a hot seat. That cannot change. The landscape will not allow it.

Probably so. USC got screwed out of a safety that could have changed momentum in the game. Why have replay if you’re going to get it wrong? Blatantly obvious he was down in the end zone when his knee hit and the back end of the ball hit the goal line on top of that. Then they spotted the ball on the half yard line after that. No accountability if the replay officials aren’t fired or reprimanded in some way.

O’s Hot seat is definitely gone barring some complete collapse. If he gets them to a NY6 he will be set.

That Arkansas coach Morris might not last a full season

Contrary to popular belief, and whether LSU was right or wrong in this approach is irrelevant to the subject at hand, O was never on the hot seat.

Arkansas, USC, Texas, Michigan, FSU, UNC, and Arizona all have to be doing some thinking right now.

There is actually a site that keeps track of this for entertainment purposes. Coach O dropped from #21 to #58 this week. Gus is up to #5.

Site also has a good summary of career coaching W/L records and salaries.

Arkansas - Morris is in his first season and they haven't been good in a while. He's good for at least two seasons.

USC - I never like Helton and didn't think he would do much. If he can't get to 8-9 wins this year, he's probably done.

Texas - They are trending up with that win last weekend, but Herman has been a disappointment so far.

Michigan - This is a stunner for me. I thought Harbaugh would get them neck and neck with Ohio State, but that offense is still pretty bad. He won't win a conference championship there and I bet he bolts back to the NFL soon.

FSU - Willie Taggart has taken a while to get going everywhere he's been and Jimbo left him with a disaster of a locker room. He gets at least two years as well.

UNC - They fell hard and fast, but do they care? Fall is just almost basketball season to these people.

Arizona - Sumlin doing Sumlin things.
