Suffice to say: Longevity but not “top shelf program manager”, he’ll pick up trash on the track oval instead of honing in on his athletes at meets. Without capable assts, he is seemingly challenged/overwhelmed by big meets. He does keep a foot tan and trims his mustache neatly, sneakers cleaned too….

He won the outdoor men's title last season with the 2nd most individual wins in history. Yeah, he sucks

Ree, any insights on how good the women and men will be this year? Any chance for a national title again?

Mr Jumps is gone so that will be a BIG loss.

Terrance Laird is going pro

Lisa Gunnarson is back and they picked up a transfer sprinter for the women.

Kind of a wait and see at this point

He’s the reigning National Champion so …

Your opinion appears invalid.

He's averaging two national championship per year, which is insane. Winning a team national championship in T&F isn't the same as winning a team championship in sports like football/basketball/soccer. Idk what exactly you want this guy to produce.

FWIW we would've had another women's championship in 2011 but Semoy Hackett took a banned substance and nullified the trophy. Probably could've subbed her out and won it or at least gotten 2nd place as a team.

Shaver is a top tier coach for being consistent at a high level. He's no Pat Henry, but he's damn good.

That’s like asking about brain surgery. That fricker knows NOTHING about track as most of the people on this site. I’ll be at the Texas Relays if they have them this year and God willing at Nationals.

BTW - look up his record without Boo. We know why jumps got better even though Boo was in a more administrative role.

Shaver is a decent coach that happens to get a lot of talent. He is Les Miles of T&F. Go to enough meets and you would see that first hand.

He absolutely sucks from a team coaching perspective, not individual event which he coaches. Go to a meet before running your fricking mouth.

That is ABSOLUTELY NOT INSANE. Getting a title stripped and only winning 2 in 20 years is SEVERELY underperforming for a program that fricking won on e womens side this alone.
All the decline happened under him thanks to fricking Skip Bertman.

Did I say I did? They asked and I told them most of what I know. If I had known you would freak out I would have told him more.

Holy shite. That will make you a bonafide expert.

Dennis is going into the hall of fame for coaching track and field and you are going to a fricking track meet. Man, you are really amazing. Dennis would be jealous

That's why I am expert on baseball, basketball and football. I go to games sometimes.

He was just inducted into the hall of fame, dumbass.

I can run my mouth all I want. I definitely don't need your approval just because you have gone to a track meet.

What's with the anger, gremlin? Jealousy? Ole Dennis makes you upset?

This dumbass is back acting like he knows anything about track again because he sits in the stands at Texas relays?

Remember last year when you were upset that the 52nd ranked pole vaulter didn’t PR at the east preliminary rounds, and guaranteed lsu wouldn’t win the championship because they didn’t advance people that weren’t supposed to be there?

How’d that work out for you fricking moron? Oh that’s right. They won the championship, with one of the highest point totals ever, by one of the largest margins ever.

Here we are 7 months later and your dumbass still doesn’t know shite about track.

Well to be fair, he drives by a Holiday Inn Express to get there

You’re making him look like some all time when he literally frickED UP 20 years of excellence. Just like someone said, he is getting that shite for longevity and nothing else, just like Pawl Maineri. He frickED UP OUR PROGRAM AND GOT BUSTED FOR CHEATING!

While I wouldn’t call myself an expert, I competed in the mile and cross country and chose baseball for college. I’ve been a judge at multiple LHSAA meets for the 20 years living there and UIL here in Texas for about 20 years until I couldn’t do it any longer.

I’ve been to 22 National Championship meets indoor and outdoor. So I do know a little about track. I choose not to listen to people like you who don’t know a fricking thing about excellence in T&F.
