Defensive strategy for Friday

I feel like our bigs match up really well with their bigs. Benford just said, “I want to attack the paint and protect the paint.” I feel as though we should be able to protect the paint pretty well. Hopefully they are putting emphasis on the perimeter. I feel if we can shut down their perimeter shooting we win this game. We can bang in the paint with them all day long no problem. We have to protect the perimeter! Thoughts?

They play 3 forwards and 2 guards almost the whole game. Hopefully Goins doesnt have a good 3 pt shooting day. If he shoots poorly, we can pack the paint and force Winston to try to beat us alone.

Keys to victory:
1) Win the turnover battle
2) Rebound on D
3) Tremont plays great

That’s what I have been reading was Goins can shoot the 3. We can’t leave him open and dare him to shoot it. We have to at least contest it. Get a hand in his face.

And Reid avoiding foul trouble early

They literally have no other capable guards besides Winston and McQuaid. Get one of them in foul trouble and it could be a long night for sparty.

Hold them to fewer points than our offense scores.
