Held a top 5 team to -13 points. So sad we back to Les miles offense running 6 yard plays on 3rd and 7. O makes a change or we see him on tv in two years.

We played good and im all about hyping up the performance, but Kellen Mond is the most consistently overrated QB in the SEC and I even feel bad for him cause his receivers dropped over 7 passes. Mond was still terrible though.
Our D played so much better, but we still would have gotten hurt by a competent QB. Aka the next 2 guys. Im here for it though. Lets go boys.

I thought Flott had a really solid game

He did. Ward looked better too.

Ensminger called a great game last night. We had receivers open all over the field; the QBs just could not get the ball there. Aggie should have had five interceptions.
Jimbo just sent numbers at us and our QBs could not make the quick decision and efficient throws required to beat that. I’m not knocking them; they are freshmen. The only idiots are the ones who expect us, with a very thin roster and freshmen QBs, to be competitive with SEC teams.

I really think everyone is just still sour over the Miss State and Mizzou losses. And they aren't objective in their criticisms given the defense had no spring to prepare and was built for a 3-4 but transitioning to a 4-3.
Plus, no Brennan for the rest of the year. It's just worst case scenario after worst case scenario.

Everyone actually looked like they knew their assignments

How was Pelini supposed to handle this?
He walked into a situation where players felt they needed to teach the World a political lesson.
No dc could have corrected this.
They did not want to play.

B+ defense. D Line, A+. Still gave up some boneheaded plays and got lucky a lot with their receivers dropping balls and Mond sucking arse.

It was raining its arse off. Lay off the wine. Do you think if we had not played on a rain soaked field last year against Auburn that we would have only put up 23 points?

Like what?? We couldn't run the ball & the QBs didn't have time to throw the ball. The only thing I can think of was perhaps run some screens. But those take some time to develop and the O line couldn't provide that time.

Don’t forget Mond is a crappy QB and helped us a lot But yeah are defense played well
Posted on 11/29/20 at 11:52 am to Tigersonfire
Do they? Was it the defense stepping up, or was it the fact that Kellen Mond couldn't dent the broadside of a barn with a frickin shotgun

I would say A or A- objectively, aTm dropped several balls in wide open spaces. But it was by far the best game of the year.

Usually we make mediocre quarterbacks look amazing, so the fact that we made Mond look as bad as he is shows improvement. Wondering how much field conditions contributed- slowing the game down to help the defense

Not sure about A+ but they played well enough to win

I say a solid B. We finally played some good downfield coverage. Tackling was better in spots. Their receivers struck me as pretty average and Mond is garbage so I expect most of that secondary “progress” to go out the window the next couple weeks.

His big mistake was resting on his laurels after winning the championship. Slinger was fine to help a guy like Burrow who brought a lot of skills and intelligence in, but he's not going to develop a very inexperienced group immediately.
Losing Myles didn't help. He was having a pretty good year.
