I’m interested in seeing what House cooks up. As much as I would love to see some blitzing schemes, Ashford isn’t much of a proven passer. I’m sure we’ll see some disguised zone coverages and containment from the defensive line. If we shutdown Hunter and Bigsby we’ll be in good hands. Going against New Mexico was the perfect tuneup. Auburn runs a lot of those zone read and option concepts.

What say you gentlemen?

Stop the run and make them beat me with the pass. With our defense Auburn will have issues. But expect the whole kitchen sink coming at LSU because the coach is hanging by a thread.

For the first time in a long time .... it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks besides our DC because low and behold, this MFr knows what he's doing. Feels like cheating.

Contain Ashford in the pocket and make him beat you with his arm. I wouldnt be sending a ton of numbers after him, make sure if he escapes the pocket you have Perkins or Penn or Ward waiting for him

Yeah I think Perkins will be in the game when he is in at QB to spy on him.

The way Ward has been flying around and making plays, I am not to worried about Ashford getting loose.

If we can tackle Tank and keep them behind the sticks, we will be all good.

Based on Harsin's past game plans, Tank will disappear in the 2nd half anyways.

It will be very important that our edge rushers stay disciplined and dont get too far upfield. Ashford takes off at the first sign of pressure and the lanes must remain small and force him wide instead of him taking off inside of the D end.

Load up to stop the run. I would imagine many 3 LB sets with Perkins on the field. Use run blitzes that can turn into QB pressures. Get them in unfavorable down/distances, and then make them pay for it with selective pressure and disguised coverages to force indecisiveness and mistakes for their QB. In House we trust!

Stop the run = stopping AU. They can't pass. Perkins at one OLB and Ojuari at the other completely negates the scramble. Our defense comes down to how our front 7 handles their running game.
