I've heard more about Aranda wanting to be an NFL DC than anything else. Less $ but maybe he strives for the challenge to prove himself at the highest level. And perhaps he's not keen on all the non-coaching responsibilities that come along with a college HC job.

On the flip side, there were rumblings after his contract ext. that he'd be the first person evaluated for HC after O is done. Not sure how this theory adds up since there will be a new AD by then, and hopefully a new Pres. as well. Unless this was just a courtesy gesture offered by BOS or TAF. I don't buy any official HCIW scenarios, although I'd be ecstatic if true.

Aranda may be content now with this cushy gig, but does not strike me as the type of guy who would want to be a college DC forever. I think he'll be highly successful no matter what his future may hold. But can't help wondering what his true ambitions and end game may be, esp. if an NFL team comes knocking next year with a DC job offer.

How in the hell is this negative??? Its simply stating curiosity and seeing if anyone else has more insight on Aranda's aspirations.

If you think this is negative, you have problems sir. Unless you're just a sheep disciple of Tiger Dee and his mass paranoia.

Its really sad that if there's any post that doesn't imply jerking off O, you wack jobs automatically construe it as being negative.

Perhaps we’ll get lucky and get Kevin Steele to come back as D coordinator.

Won't need Steele if Aranda is HC. Can use that $ for a legit OC.

Paid troll, here to cast doubt on Aranda just in case something goes wrong this season. It will go something like this, "Its not O's fault we lost games. Aranda knew he was leaving and didn't care".
Ree was doing this shite before the bowl game when the A&M stuff was happening.

Hey cocksucker, I despise Orgeron. And Tiger Ree. You couldn't have it any further from the truth. Read my post history before you make stupid accusations.

Look man I'm negative on Coach O and you can look through my posting history if you don't believe me

Not even I think Aranda's a layup to leave this situation; he has a really good shot at being a head coach at a prestigious power five program soon if he wants it

Don't be a negative nancy

I consider ambition a virtue, not a vice. I'm a "greed is good" type of fella. Ambition is good as long as there's something behind it such as intelligence, skills, or ability and not nepotism or bribery.

Having said that, it's obvious which one Aranda is. He SHOULD have ambitions beyond where he is at now. We've all heard how cerebral and intelligent he is; he is going to want to challenge himself and always be learning more.

Now we do not know what form those ambitions may take. NFL? HC? Maybe even a NFL GM. How about a college AD. Like many smart people he recognizes opportunity and will take the right one when it presents itself. So it may not be a plan, just a short list of next steps. And whichever one, I'm hoping P5 HC at LSU, is there first is the path he takes. The next move may be all about timing, not a specific job.
